We are seeking an experienced Architecture & Engineering (A/E) Project Manager to lead architecture and engineering projects from initial planning through design development, permitting, construction administration, and final delivery. The ideal candidate has a background in an architecture, engineering, or multidisciplinary design firm and proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, technical teams, deliverables, and client relationships while maintaining quality and meeting project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and engineering projects through design development, engineering, permitting, construction support, and final delivery.
  • Establish project scopes, fee budgets, schedules, resource plans, and deliverables in coordination with clients and technical teams.
  • Direct architects, engineers, consultants, and external partners, ensuring responsibilities, expectations, and deadlines are clearly defined.
  • Monitor project milestones, design submissions, approvals, outstanding decisions, and progress against established plans.
  • Identify design inconsistencies, scope changes, coordination gaps, schedule risks, and budget variances, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to resolve design challenges, permitting issues, and construction-related problems.
  • Coordinate activities across design, engineering, regulatory approvals, bidding, and construction phases.
  • Lead design reviews, client presentations, formal submissions, and construction-phase coordination meetings.
  • Manage client relationships, provide regular project updates, and address expectations and concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet contractual requirements, applicable codes, quality standards, and client objectives.
  • Support construction administration by coordinating with contractors, responding to field questions, and resolving design-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including meeting minutes, budgets, schedules, status reports, and change records.
  • Report project performance, financial results, risks, and schedule developments to company leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery through effective coordination, documentation, and internal workflows.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in architecture, engineering, or multidisciplinary design.
  • Required: Previous experience working within an architecture, engineering, or multidisciplinary design firm.
  • Proven responsibility for managing project scope, budgets, schedules, deliverables, risks, and client relationships.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Strong understanding of design development, permitting, construction documentation, and construction administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from initial design through final delivery.
  • Experience resolving scope changes, design conflicts, coordination issues, schedule risks, and cost concerns.
  • Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Understanding of professional services agreements, design deliverables, and architecture and engineering firm operations.

  • Opportunity to lead diverse architecture and engineering projects.
