AlphaHire is a United States recruiting agency focused on the construction and skilled-trades labour market, placing superintendents, project managers, estimators and engineers with contractors nationwide. It works for commercial, residential and industrial builders in metros from Boston and Memphis to Houston, Naples and Nashville, running searches on behalf of client firms rather than employing the placed staff itself. The agency also publishes labour-market analysis through its Workforce Intelligence Lab, which tracks compensation trends, contractor growth and workforce scarcity across the construction industry.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Superintendent / Project Manager to lead high-end residential construction projects throughout the Greater Boston area.
This is a hands-on senior leadership role responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through final completion. The position will oversee field operations, scheduling, budgets, subcontractors, quality control, safety, site logistics, and client communication.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience with luxury custom homes, multifamily construction, major renovations, and historic restoration. Experience working on architect-driven projects and complex urban construction is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Lead high-end residential construction projects from preconstruction through final turnover and closeout.
- Oversee daily field operations while maintaining project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, consultants, inspectors, and homeowners.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, look-ahead plans, site logistics plans, and construction sequencing.
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and scope documents to ensure accurate project execution.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, permitting, inspections, daily reports, and project documentation.
- Lead jobsite meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, quality inspections, and progress reviews.
- Identify and resolve field conflicts, design issues, existing-condition challenges, material delays, and scheduling problems.
- Maintain exceptional craftsmanship and quality standards from structural construction through final finishes.
- Coordinate material deliveries, site logistics, manpower, and subcontractor sequencing.
- Enforce OSHA requirements, company safety policies, housekeeping standards, and jobsite procedures.
- Provide regular project updates to ownership, homeowners, architects, and company leadership.
- Oversee punch-list completion, owner walkthroughs, project turnover, warranty items, and final closeout.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and project partners.
Requirements
- 15+ years of construction experience with progressive leadership responsibility.
- 10+ years of residential construction project management experience in the Greater Boston area.
- Proven experience with luxury custom homes, multifamily construction, major renovations, or historic restoration.
- Historic renovation, brownstone restoration, or architect-driven residential experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Boston-area permitting, inspections, urban construction logistics, and local subcontractor networks.
- Proven ability to manage projects from preconstruction through final completion.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management, quality control, and project documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
- Proficiency with Procore, Buildertrend, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Excel, or similar construction software.
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong field presence with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional construction standards.
- Ability to work effectively with homeowners, architects, designers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
Benefits
- $120,000-$160,000 annual salary, based on experience.
- Performance-based bonus opportunities.
- Comprehensive health benefits.
- Paid time off and company holidays.
- Stable pipeline of high-end residential construction projects.
- Significant project ownership and senior field leadership responsibility.
- Opportunity to lead complex, architecturally significant residential projects throughout Greater Boston.
- Collaborative team environment with long-term career growth opportunities.
