AlphaSense is a market intelligence company founded in 2011 that indexes company filings, earnings call transcripts, broker research, regulatory documents and news, and lets analysts search across all of it at once. Its differentiator is search that understands financial language and synonyms rather than matching keywords, layered with generative summarisation, and it also owns the expert call network Stream, which adds transcripts of interviews with industry specialists. Headquartered in New York and privately held at a multi-billion dollar valuation, it sells mainly to investment firms, corporate strategy teams and consultancies.

About the Role

The Physical Security Analyst will serve as AlphaSense's on-the-ground security presence in London, UK, protecting our people, facilities, and sensitive assets across our EMEA operations. This is a broad, hands-on role that spans physical security operations, incident response, and introductory insider risk support-with a primary emphasis on physical security.

You'll own day-to-day physical security for our London office while serving as the local point of contact for security incidents and escalations. You'll work closely with AlphaSense's Insider Protection team in New York City, relaying ground-level observations, supporting risk reviews, and contributing to a regionally-informed security posture. This role is well-suited for a security professional with 3+ years of experience who is ready to take on real ownership and grow into a broader security function over time.

About the Team

This role sits within AlphaSense's Insider Protection team, which is responsible for identifying, investigating, and mitigating risks posed by trusted insiders-whether through malicious intent, negligence, or compromise. The team partners closely with HR, Legal, IT, Security Engineering, and business leadership. As the London-based member of this team, you'll bring a local perspective and on-site presence that our global team cannot replicate remotely.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary on-site security point of contact for AlphaSense's London office, owning day-to-day physical security operations
  • Monitor and manage physical access control, visitor management, and badging-ensuring appropriate coverage and flagging anomalies
  • Conduct periodic site security walk-throughs and risk assessments, recommending mitigation measures to security leadership
  • Lead first-response on physical security incidents-tailgating, unauthorized access, workplace concerns-documenting findings and escalating appropriately to the NYC team
  • Support access provisioning and deprovisioning processes in coordination with IT, with particular attention to high-risk joiners, movers, and leavers
  • Provide physical security data and observational support (badge history, visitor logs, site context) to insider threat investigations conducted by the broader team
  • Assist in identifying behavioral indicators or anomalies at the site level that may warrant further review by the Insider Protection team
  • Coordinate with building management and local security vendors to maintain consistent security standards and address facility-level concerns
  • Maintain clear, thorough incident logs and produce written summaries for security leadership in a format suitable for escalation or recordkeeping
  • Support basic security hygiene efforts in the office environment-clean desk compliance, device handling awareness-in coordination with IT
  • Liaise with local law enforcement, emergency services, or vendors as situations require
  • Stay current on regional security trends and threat landscape relevant to UK and EU operations

What We Are Looking For:

  • 3+ years of experience in physical security, corporate security, loss prevention, or a related field, ideally in a technology, financial services, or similarly fast-paced environment
  • Hands-on familiarity with physical security systems-access control platforms, video surveillance, visitor management tools-at a level beyond basic use
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills; able to produce clear written incident reports and communicate findings to a remote leadership team
  • Sound judgment and professional maturity when handling sensitive personnel matters or security incidents
  • Comfortable operating independently in an environment where the broader security team is remote and across a significant time zone difference
  • Intellectually curious about insider threat and security investigation concepts, and eager to build capability in those areas with team support

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in a corporate investigations, compliance, or risk function-even at a supporting level
  • Exposure to insider threat concepts, DLP tools, or security monitoring workflows
  • Familiarity with how physical access data intersects with logical/IT access governance and identity management
  • Experience coordinating with HR, Legal, or Facilities on sensitive matters
  • Relevant certifications such as PSP, CPP, or Security+, or interest in pursuing them
  • Background in financial services, market intelligence, or a data-sensitive technology environment

Why Join Us?

  • Own physical security for a meaningful regional office at a company where protecting AI-driven market intelligence is a genuine strategic priority
  • Work within a modern security organization that values convergence between physical security and insider threat functions-your on-the-ground observations will directly inform risk decisions made at the global level
  • Receive direct mentorship from AlphaSense's Insider Protection team leadership, with a clear development path into investigation and insider risk work
  • High ownership from day one: this is not a support role, it's a critical local function with real visibility
