ALTEN Technology is the United States engineering services arm of the French consultancy ALTEN, supplying product development engineers to manufacturers across medical devices, aerospace, automotive, industrial equipment and consumer electronics. Its engineers work inside client development programmes on mechanical design, embedded software, electrical engineering, verification and regulatory documentation, usually staffed for the duration of a product programme rather than for short advisory engagements. The business operates from offices across the United States and recruits continuously for engineering roles tied to specific client sites.

We’re ALTEN Technology USA, an engineering company helping clients bring groundbreaking ideas to life-from advancing space exploration and life-saving medical devices to building autonomous electric vehicles. With 3,000+ experts across North America, we partner with leading companies in aerospace, medical devices, robotics, automotive, commercial vehicles, EVs, rail, and more.

As part of the global ALTEN Group-57,000+ engineers in 30 countries-we deliver across the entire product development cycle, from consulting to full project outsourcing.

When you join ALTEN Technology USA, you’ll collaborate on some of the world’s toughest engineering challenges, supported by mentorship, career growth opportunities, and comprehensive benefits. We take pride in fostering a culture where employees feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow.

  • Developing and executing test plans to characterize and qualify digital and analog electronic hardware.
  • Performing hands-on troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis of prototype circuit boards and system-level hardware.
  • Integrating PCBAs into larger electromechanical and instrument-level systems while supporting overall product development efforts.
  • Documenting test results, engineering findings, and Theory of Operation documentation for released designs.
  • Implementing design updates and supporting the release of qualified hardware into production.
  • Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve product performance.
  • Supporting multiple new product development programs by adapting existing hardware architectures to meet evolving product requirements.
  • Utilizing laboratory test equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, pulse generators, current probes, spectrum analyzers, and related diagnostic tools.

Qualifications;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience with board-level hardware development, testing, debug, and integration.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional engineering team.
  • Experience with Altium Designer or similar PCB design tools preferred.
  • Knowledge of PCB manufacturing, assembly processes, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Test (DFT) preferred.
  • Experience with EMI/ESD design considerations and compliance best practices preferred.
  • Experience with embedded processors, firmware integration, FPGA-based systems, or mixed-signal designs preferred.
