Amazon is an American technology and retail conglomerate founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994 as an online bookstore and headquartered in Seattle, Washington. It operates the world's largest online marketplace together with a global logistics network, physical grocery stores and a third-party seller platform that accounts for most units sold. Amazon Web Services, launched in 2006, is the leading public cloud provider and generates the majority of the group's operating profit, while advertising, Prime Video, Alexa devices and Kuiper satellite broadband round out the business.

We are looking for a Vendor Manager to join the EU Hardlines (HL) team within Amazon Retail, specializing in Chinese vendor on-boarding. Hardlines is one of the largest and fastest-growing product families in Amazon EU, spanning categories such as Home, DIY & Tools, Garden, Automotive, Business, Industrial & Scientific Supplies (BISS), Sports, and more. A significant share of HL selection and growth originates from Chinese brands and manufacturers, and this role owns the pipeline that brings them onto the EU platform and scales them.

We are looking for a leader who can develop deep relationships with strategic Chinese brands and manufacturers, take full P&L ownership of a cross-border vendor cohort, and drive it towards its next phase of selection-led growth. Much of the selection runway in HL sits with manufacturers who do not yet sell directly on Amazon EU; the right candidate will be hungry to close that gap through vendor acquisition, on-boarding, negotiations, and a relentless focus on customer experience.

In this role, you will examine data to identify high-potential Chinese brands and manufacturers to target, including holdout vendors, initiate long-term relationships with their senior management, resolve the operational, logistical, commercial, and cross-border barriers that slow on-boarding, conduct negotiations on Amazon's behalf, and help vendors launch, ramp, and scale on the platform.

You will also work closely with multiple partner teams and senior stakeholders across EU and China, including Category Leaders, Finance, Supply Chain, Catalogue, Compliance, and Global Selling, to deliver projects that meaningfully improve customer experience, selection breadth, and profitability.

This role has a high degree of autonomy for developing, owning and delivering the vendor on-boarding strategy in order to exceed business goals and for managing key vendors both locally and Pan-EU.

Key job responsibilities

- Identify, acquire and onboard new Chinese brands and manufacturers across HL categories

- Build and own a pipeline of high-potential vendors, including strategic holdouts

- Travel to China to attend tradeshows and meet vendors face-to-face

- Develop long-term relationships with vendors' senior management

- Conduct negotiations on Amazon's behalf to drive top- and bottom-line growth

- Own the Retail P&L for your vendor cohort and deliver revenue and margin plans

- Resolve the cross-border barriers - logistics, compliance, catalogue, and payments - that slow vendor onboarding and ramp

- Use data to identify which vendors to target and to prioritise selection addition

- Work with Category Leaders, Finance, Supply Chain, Catalogue, Compliance, and GlobalSelling to improve customer experience, selection, and profitability

Basic qualifications

- Bachelor's degree

- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (written and verbal)

- Fluency in English (written and verbal)

- Experience in vendor management, account management, buying, merchandising, or a commercial/negotiation role

- Experience with business analysis and P&L management

- Experience using data and metrics to drive decisions, including proficiency in Excel

- Experience negotiating with and managing external partners or vendors

Preferred qualifications

- Experience onboarding or managing cross-border vendors, or working with Chinese brands and manufacturers

- Experience in a cross-functional role working with supply chain, catalogue, compliance, or logistics teams

- Experience managing large, complex vendor negotiations
