Amazon is an American technology and retail conglomerate founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994 as an online bookstore and headquartered in Seattle, Washington. It operates the world's largest online marketplace together with a global logistics network, physical grocery stores and a third-party seller platform that accounts for most units sold. Amazon Web Services, launched in 2006, is the leading public cloud provider and generates the majority of the group's operating profit, while advertising, Prime Video, Alexa devices and Kuiper satellite broadband round out the business.

Are you an innovative leader that wants to lead the cross-functional design and deployment of innovative solutions into our world-class existing fulfillment centers and logistics systems? Do you want to take ownership of solving the industry's most complex problems? Does the challenge of designing and implementing ground breaking solutions for automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing appeal to you? If you're looking to be challenged in a fast paced and often ambiguous environment, and you have strong technical problem solving and project management skills, then this job is for you!

Global Engineering Services (GES) Operations Engineering (Ops Eng) is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented engineering project leader to lead initiative of developing and delivering next generation, world-class sortation and transportation systems. This position will have an impact on both design and process design engineering for GES.

If the notion of leading engineering projects amongst the world’s brightest talent to full potential excites you; if the idea of using ground breaking technologies to develop sortation and logistics systems in the multi-national juggernaut that is Amazon has your attention, then keep reading.

We’re looking to add a high-impact engineer to our team. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high-quality, cost-effective solutions for our sortation and distribution systems. Your projects may include green-fields, brown-fields, and retrofits, including highly automated fulfillment centers, cross-dock facilities, and transportation centers. Your projects will be a variety of template-based and designed-from-scratch along with ownership of Process Designs end to end complimenting each Design.

You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year. You will be challenged; you will learn; you will work on high impact, high visibility projects; you will grow.

- Evaluate solutions effectively and make decisions that balance business value and technology risk

- Help your customers and the engineering teams make appropriate trade-offs by considering the larger picture (e.g., business goals, throughput expectations, quality requirements, efficiency, maintainability, operability)

- Identify standards and drive consistent application of engineering changes across North America

- Build strong working relationships with Fulfillment Center (FC) leadership and their operations teams across multiple sites including Industrial Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, and Process Engineering stakeholders
