Amity Foundation

Amity Foundation is a nonprofit therapeutic community based in Los Angeles that helps individuals and families facing substance use, homelessness, trauma and incarceration through residential treatment, counseling and re-entry services. Founded in 1981, it runs community programs in Los Angeles, Vista, Moreno Valley and Tucson, Arizona, and in-prison treatment programs at California state correctional facilities. Its openings include substance abuse counselors and supervising counselors, care and Medi-Cal coordinators, monitors, cooks, data clerks and analysts, grant compliance advocates, vocational shop staff and youth apprenticeship roles.

What You Will Do:

  • Facilitate CBI classes, using evidence-based and standardized curriculum to the participants.
  • Conduct class and facilitate individual sessions to develop release prevention/action plans and/or provide make-up work.
  • Evaluate and document the progress of participants assigned to their classes.
  • Document delivery of CBI programming services in ARMS.
  • Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms and expectations for participations and completion.
  • Work collaboratively with the CDCR/CCHCS headquarters, local institution, and CDCR contracted staff and

  • Education and Experience:

    • Required:

  • Counselor II: Certified as an AOD Counselor.
    • Counselor III: Certified as an AOD Counselor, with one (1) year of full- time experience providing certified AOD counseling services.
