About the role
We have an opportunity for a Kaitaki Whakawhanake Pakihi - Whakahihiko EV Kōtuitui Tūmatanui Business Development Manager - EV Charging Public Network to join the Energy Solutions team. The role will see you source and negotiate commercial agreements to grow our EV charging market share.
Using your commercial acumen, relationship skills and sales expertise this role will see you operate autonomously in an emerging area of the market. Your patience for the sales cycle combined your ability to think strategically will see you work in an exciting field making a difference to Aotearoa.
You will have the opportunity to
- Originate, negotiate and execute commercial agreements and leases for EV Charging Infrastructure
- Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, retailers and other stakeholders understanding their needs and expectations
- Identify new customer prospects and develop strategies to engage and convert them into customers
- Provide market advice and assist with sales strategies
- Develop and implement actionable plans to achieve revenue and growth targets
- Work closely with marketing, product development, commercial sales and operational teams to align strategies and tactics and secure deals
What you’ll bring to Z
- Extensive experience in commercial or industrial property leasing role or a business development background within eMobility or the energy sector
- Demonstrated success in a sales environment from sourcing and pitching to negotiation and closing
- The patience and commercial nous to work through sales cycles and negotiations
- Knowledge of commercial leasing arrangements, property law and the electricity or energy sector is advantageous but not essential
- Interest in, or a passion for EV’s, sustainable solutions or a low carbon future
- The self-motivation to work in an autonomous role
- Excellent relationship building skills, you will work with a range of stakeholders and need to communicate across a range of levels
- The drive to seek opportunities and close them resulting in successful outcomes
- The flexibility for travel and visits to sites and customers

The base salary range for this role is $130,000 to $155,000 per annum, plus 15% STI based on company and individual performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross. A vehicle is provided in this role.
