Backend Developer (PHP)

Andersen is hiring a Backend Developer (PHP) to develop scalable digital solutions and contribute to international software projects across diverse industries.

Responsibilities:

• Independently managing backend development for e-commerce projects and complex corporate portals.
• Designing backend architecture and making key technical decisions.
• Selecting the most suitable platform and technology stack based on the client’s requirements and business objectives.
• Developing and maintaining PHP-based backend systems, ensuring high quality, performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Implementing and maintaining integrations with external systems, including payment services, CRM/ERP/1C systems, marketplaces, and delivery providers.
• Designing and implementing APIs and system-to-system integrations.
• Taking full ownership of the backend side of the project, from architecture and development through launch and ongoing support.
• Independently estimating technical tasks, identifying potential risks, and proposing implementation approaches.
• Communicating directly with clients in English, clarifying requirements, discussing technical solutions, and aligning on implementation details.

Must-haves:

• Experience in backend development for 3+ years.
• Strong knowledge of PHP 8.x, with a solid understanding of OOP and SOLID principles.
• Commercial development experience with Laravel and/or Symfony, including building custom portals and integration solutions.
• Hands-on experience with custom development on Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce.
• Experience with WordPress / WooCommerce, including enhancing existing solutions, developing plugins, and implementing integrations.
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs / GraphQL.
• Experience integrating external systems and services, including payment systems, CRM/ERP/1C, marketplaces, and delivery services.
• Strong experience with MySQL/MariaDB, including SQL query analysis and optimization.
• Experience using Redis and other caching mechanisms.
• Hands-on experience with Git, Docker, and CI/CD.
• Level of English - from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with PrestaShop / OpenCart, Shopify (apps, APIs, integrations), and 1C-Bitrix (corporate portals).
• Experience working with high-load e-commerce projects and headless/composable commerce architectures.
