Andersen is hiring a DevOps Engineer (AWS) for a project developing a complex platform with integrations, payments, and claims processes, ensuring scalable and reliable system operations.

Our customer is an international organization operating in the financial and protection services domain. The company provides a diverse portfolio of customer-oriented solutions across multiple business areas and markets. With a strong focus on digital capabilities, operational excellence, and long-term development, the organization continuously invests in technology, process improvement, and service innovation to support evolving customer and business needs.

The project is focused on developing a complex product supported by multiple specialized teams. It includes building core functionality, implementing integrations with external systems, and developing payment and claims-related processes to ensure seamless end-to-end operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and maintaining a scalable, low-latency backend platform and microservice architecture (gRPC/REST).

  • Owning the platform layer supporting multiple applications, ensuring reliability and performance.

  • Implementing and improving CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and IaC practices.

  • Setting up and managing observability (metrics, logs, tracing, alerting) to ensure system stability.

  • Building and operating resilient infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes/AWS, service networking tools).

  • Collaborating with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.

  • Conducting code reviews and enforcing best practices for code quality, security, and performance.

  • Ensuring proper testing strategies (unit, integration, load, contract testing).

  • Optimizing data storage and messaging systems (PostgreSQL, Kafka/RabbitMQ) for performance and reliability.

  • Communicating technical decisions, risks, and trade-offs to stakeholders.

  • Supporting and improving the full development lifecycle from development to production.

  • Participating in decision-making and development of critical system components, including optional on-call support.

Must-haves:

  • Experience as a DevOps Engineer for 3+ years.

  • Strong experience designing and operating scalable, distributed microservice systems, primarily in Go.

  • Hands-on experience with Linux, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP, Docker, and Terraform/Terragrunt (IaC).

  • Proficiency in Bash/Python scripting and Ansible.

  • Strong background in reliability, observability, performance, and highly available cloud-based systems.

  • Solid experience with gRPC, REST APIs, backend testing, and service-to-service communication.

  • Practical experience with PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ or Kafka, and observability tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, Jaeger, OpenSearch, and Sentry.

  • Experience leading senior engineers and driving best practices in CI/CD, IaC, testing, and code reviews.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business goals into technical roadmaps and platform initiatives.

    Level of English - from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with service orchestration and service discovery tools such as Nomad and Consul.

  • Experience with edge/ingress components such as Traefik.

  • Broader experience with HashiCorp tools (e.g. Vault).

  • Experience operating in multi-cloud environments.

  • Willingness to join an optional on-call rotation.
