Quality Engineer

We are seeking a Quality Engineering (QE) Coordinator to lead and coordinate all aspects of software quality engineering and testing across assigned projects and initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to QA/QE standards, managing testing activities, driving automation adoption, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and overall testing effectiveness.

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

Testing Coordination and Execution:

• Develop, publish, and execute test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, automation scripts, status reports, defect reports, and test exit reports.
• Identify and secure required test data, environments, and testing resources.
• Prepare testing estimates and manage testing-related activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor and report QA/QE metrics and KPIs, including test coverage, velocity, defect leakage, and defect trends.
• Coordinate end-to-end testing activities across multiple stakeholders and teams.

Defect and Compliance Management:

• Track and manage defects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution and proper documentation.
• Identify testing process gaps and drive remediation activities.
• Ensure compliance with established QA/QE standards, methodologies, and governance practices.
• Recommend and implement process, policy, and tool improvements to increase quality and efficiency.

Technical Leadership:

• Review technical designs and assess testing impacts, risks, and coverage requirements.
• Drive adoption of test automation, AI-assisted testing, and emerging quality engineering solutions.
• Lead the implementation and enhancement of automation frameworks and testing tools.
• Mentor team members on quality engineering best practices and testing methodologies.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Work closely with project managers, business analysts, developers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure successful testing delivery.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve product quality and testability.
• Partner with QA/QE teams across the organization to share best practices and improve testing standards.
• Coordinate with external vendors and tool providers as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in QA/QE and software testing.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience leading or coordinating testing activities across projects is preferred.

Core Skills:

• 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance (QA) or Quality Engineering (QE).
• 1-3 years of software development experience preferred.
• Strong experience in test planning, test execution, defect management, and quality reporting.
• Experience with retail banking, web application testing, UX testing, API testing, and accessibility testing.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing lifecycle (STLC).

Automation and Technical Skills:

• Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Appium, TestNG, and JUnit.
• Programming experience in Java, Python, and JavaScript.
• Ability to create automation test scripts, object repositories, and reusable automation functions.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, web services, and REST APIs.
• Basic understanding of SQL and database testing.
• Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence, and Agile development methodologies.

Preferred Skills:

• API testing and service virtualization experience.
• Experience with tools such as Parasoft, Postman, Rest Assured, Perfecto, or similar testing platforms.
• Exposure to AI-assisted testing tools, including GitHub Copilot or equivalent generative AI solutions.
• Experience in mobile and cross-browser testing.
