Functional QA Engineer (Temporary Contract)

About You

You are a Functional QA Engineer with strong experience in manual and functional testing, passionate about ensuring software quality, reliability, and exceptional user experiences.

You enjoy understanding complex workflows, identifying risks, and validating business-critical functionality through thoughtful testing strategies. You thrive in collaborative environments, communicate findings clearly, and take ownership of ensuring high-quality software delivery.

You are comfortable working on security-sensitive applications, platform modernization initiatives, and projects where accuracy, compliance, and attention to detail are essential.

Note: This position is offered under acontractor model for a period of 2 months.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience in Functional Quality Assurance.
• Strong experience performing manual and functional testing.
• Experience designing, executing, and maintaining test cases.
• Experience conducting regression testing.
• Experience validating end-to-end user flows and business processes.
• Strong defect identification, documentation, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage testing activities with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience testing WordPress applications.
• Experience testing WooCommerce implementations.
• Security testing awareness.
• Exposure to automation tools or frameworks.
• Experience validating Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
• Experience testing QR-based workflows or access scenarios.
• Familiarity with healthcare, compliance, or security-sensitive applications.

You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:

• Perform functional and regression testing for WordPress and WooCommerce applications.
• Validate emergency-profile workflows and end-user experiences.
• Verify application behavior following security, PHP, architecture, and infrastructure changes.
• Test role-based access control (RBAC) permissions and access scenarios.
• Validate QR-based access and profile retrieval workflows.
• Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive test cases.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
• Collaborate closely with developers and project stakeholders to ensure product quality.
• Support validation efforts associated with platform modernization, security improvements, and compliance initiatives.

• 3+ years of experience in Functional Quality Assurance.
• Strong Manual and Functional Testing experience.
• Experience with Regression Testing and End-to-End validations.
• Experience documenting and tracking defects.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
