Tax Manager, Corporate Tax

Join Aprio's Tax team and you will help clients maximize their opportunities. Aprio is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Tax Manager, Corproate Tax to join their dynamic team.

Position Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local corporate tax returns, including consolidated and multi-state filings, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provisions (ASC 740), including deferred tax calculations, valuation allowance analysis, and uncertain tax position documentation.
• Responsible for managing and leading a team of tax professionals, delegating tasks and responsibilities, and overseeing the work of your team members.
• Developing and implementing tax strategies. This will involve staying up-to-date with changing tax laws and regulations and identifying opportunities for tax planning.
• Providing consulting services to clients on various tax-related issues such as mergers and acquisitions, tax planning, and corporate restructuring.
• Conduct tax research to stay up-to-date with changing tax laws and regulations and identify opportunities for tax planning.
• Responsible for communicating with clients and stakeholders, including tax authorities and other regulatory bodies, to ensure that all tax-related matters are handled effectively and efficiently.
• Manage client relationships and ensure that clients are satisfied with the services provided by your team.
• Training and mentoring team members.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Master's degree in Taxation preferred.
• Recent experience working in a public accounting firm.
• 6+ years of federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in accounting.
• CPA license required; JD, LLM in Taxation, or Enrolled Agent credential may be considered depending on role scope.
• Experience with corporate income tax, including consolidated and multi-state filings.
• Experience with ASC 740 income tax accounting and US GAAP as applied to corporate clients, including preparation and review of income tax provisions.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology; experience with tax provision software (e.g., OneSource, Corptax) preferred.
• Experience managing a team.
• Willing to work hybrid.
