We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Queen Victoria School, Dunblane, FK15 0JY. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work within a busy boarding school environment, helping to support the delivery of excellent food services while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

• Shift patterns between 06:30 - 14:00 and 12:00 - 19:30

What you'll be doing

• Working as part of a team to maintain high cleaning standards throughout kitchen and dining areas
• Serving food to pupils and school staff within a boarding school environment
• Supporting kitchen operations through cleaning schedules and daily checklists
• Assisting with stock deliveries and storing goods appropriately
• Following food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times
• Supporting the wider catering team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
• Participating in ongoing training and personal development activities

About you

• Previous kitchen or catering experience would be advantageous but is not essential
• Willingness to complete Food Safety and Health & Safety training through our e-learning platform
• Good communication skills and a team-focused approach
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Reliable and flexible approach to work
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer service

Important Requirements

• Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK
• Successful candidates must be able to obtain PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) clearance through Disclosure Scotland
• MoD BPSS security clearance is required
• This role is subject to safer recruitment checks, including references and enhanced safeguarding checks
