Arista Networks is an American networking company founded in 2004 that sells high-speed ethernet switches and routers for data centres, campus networks and increasingly artificial intelligence clusters. Its differentiator is EOS, a network operating system built on an unmodified Linux kernel with a published state database, which allows programmatic control and streaming telemetry that traditional switch software could not offer. Headquartered in Santa Clara and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it counts the largest cloud operators among its biggest customers and has taken substantial share from incumbent switch vendors in the data centre.

Arista Networks is an industry leader in data-driven, client-to-cloud networking for large data center, campus and routing environments. What sets us apart is our relentless pursuit of innovation. We leverage the latest advancements in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and software-defined networking to provide our clients with a competitive edge in an increasingly interconnected world. Our solutions are designed to not only meet the current demands of the digital landscape but to also anticipate and adapt to future challenges.

At Arista we value the diversity of thought and perspectives that each employee brings to the table. We believe that fostering an inclusive environment, where individuals from various backgrounds and experiences feel welcome, is essential for driving creativity and innovation.

Our commitment to excellence has earned us several prestigious awards, such as Best Engineering Team, Best Company for Diversity, Compensation, and Work-Life Balance. At Arista, we take pride in our track record of success and strive to maintain the highest standards of quality and performance in everything we do.

Who You'll Work With

We are seeking a Campus & WiFi-focused Technical Solutions Engineer (TSE) to join our Customer Engineering team. This is a high-impact, technical role where you will be the primary point of contact for enterprise customers deploying Arista's campus switching and wireless LAN solutions.

At Arista, we do things differently. There are no scripts to follow and no "Tier 1" to hide behind. You will operate in a non-siloed environment with direct access to the software and hardware engineering teams that build the products. You will own complex technical cases end-to-end, helping customers realize the full value of Arista EOS, CloudVision, and CV-CUE (CloudVision Cognitive Unified Edge).

What You'll Do

  • Act as the subject-matter expert for Arista EOS-based campus switching (CCS-710, 720, 750 series) and WiFi 5/6/6E/7 access-point platforms.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Layer 2/3 campus network issues covering VLANs, STP/RSTP/MST, LACP, LLDP, QoS, and multicast.

  • Support customers deploying and operating CV-CUE (CloudVision Cognitive Unified Edge) and Arista WiFi, including RF planning, channel management, roaming, and client connectivity.

  • Diagnose wireless issues: RF interference, 802.11 association/authentication failures, WPA3/802.1X/RADIUS, roaming (802.11r/k/v), and throughput degradation.

  • Assist with WLAN controller-less architecture questions, AP onboarding, tunnel configurations, and Arista's CloudVision-driven zero-touch provisioning for campus.

  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email in a professional manner, setting clear expectations and driving to root-cause resolution.

  • Conduct live troubleshooting sessions, packet captures, and log analysis with customers and their network teams.

  • Reproduce customer issues in the TSE's dedicated lab environment to validate bug reports and workarounds.

  • Work with software engineering to open, track, and validate bug fixes, providing clear reproduction steps and packet-level evidence.

  • Document recurring issues and contribute to internal knowledge-base articles and runbooks.

Essential Skills:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise campus networks.

  • Wireless Networking Fundamentals: Strong knowledge of IEEE 802.11 standards (a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be) and RF fundamentals (SNR, RSSI, MCS rates). Experience troubleshooting Wireless LAN (WLAN) architectures.

  • Solid Layer 2/3 Campus Skills:

    • VLANs (IEEE 802.1Q), STP / RSTP / MSTP, LACP, LLDP.

    • QoS, 802.1p marking, traffic shaping and policing for voice/video.

    • Network access control: 802.1X, MBA (MAC-Based Authentication), RADIUS, AAA, and policy enforcement.

    • IP services: DHCP, ARP, IPv4/IPv6, IGMP snooping.

    • Advanced Routing & Fabric: Deep understanding of BGP, OSPF, and modern fabric technologies (VXLAN/EVPN) as they apply to high-scale campus architectures.

  • Advanced Packet Analysis: Proficiency in using Wireshark, tcpdump, and Over-the-Air (OTA) wireless captures to perform forensic-level packet analysis.

  • Communication: Exceptional English communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both network architects and junior administrators.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency across multiple industry-leading CLI environments, with a focus on deep-dive configuration and state-machine troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with "Controller-less" or Cloud-Managed Wireless architectures.

  • Knowledge of Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) workflows and using APIs (REST/gRPC) for network management.

  • Comfort with Linux CLI (bash, tcpdump, SSH) and an understanding of how network OS internals interact with hardware.

  • Programming/scripting ability (Python, shell) for log parsing, data analysis, and workflow automation.

  • Experience with IXIA, Spirent, or similar traffic generation for performance validation.

Arista’s Customer Engineering team is an engineering-led organization. We pride ourselves on a linear management structure and a culture that eschews silos. Every TSE is expected to be a leader and a contributor to the global engineering community.

  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

  • Certifications: Valued certifications include CWNE, CWSP, CWNA (wireless); CCNP/CCIE Enterprise (or equivalent); Arista ACE certifications.

  • Experience: Prior experience in a TAC or post-sales technical support environment is strongly preferred.
