ASML is a semiconductor equipment manufacturer specializing in high-precision photolithography systems, computational lithography software, and metrology and inspection solutions. Headquartered in Veldhoven, Netherlands, the enterprise is the world’s sole supplier of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines - including next-generation High-NA EUV platforms - alongside a broad portfolio of deep ultraviolet (DUV) systems. Through its global network of R&D centers, manufacturing facilities, and field support services across Europe, Asia, and North America, the organization enables global semiconductor foundries and chipmakers to fabricate advanced logic and memory microchips.

Introduction

ASML US, LP brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Wilton, CT, Chandler, AZ and San Jose, CA.

Introduction to the Job

As a Production Engineer at ASML in Wilton, Connecticut, you will help turn advanced engineering designs into reliable manufacturing processes. Your work will directly support the production and testing of technology used in ASML’s semiconductor lithography systems.

You will serve as a senior technical resource within manufacturing, solving complex production challenges and improving how products are built and tested. You will also partner with engineering teams to introduce new products and create lasting improvements across manufacturing.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Production Engineer, you will independently lead technical problem solving within your area of expertise. You will connect manufacturing, engineering, and other technical teams to improve product quality, manufacturability, and production performance.

You will:

  • Lead investigations into complex technical and manufacturing problems and implement solutions that prevent repeat issues.
  • Support new product introductions by identifying manufacturing risks early and improving product manufacturability before volume production.
  • Perform complex engineering activities and manage dependencies across products, processes, tooling, hardware, and software.
  • Develop, validate, and maintain manufacturing procedures, process sequences, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Analyze production performance, identify recurring problems and bottlenecks, and implement sustainable process improvements.
  • Coach engineers and production employees by sharing technical knowledge, answering questions, and strengthening problem-solving capabilities.
  • Partner with manufacturing, design engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve structural issues and improve production readiness.

Experience and Education

To succeed as a Production Engineer, you will need:

  • A bachelor’s or masters degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, physics, or another relevant technical field, plus extensive experience in a technical production environment
  • Project or Internship experience supporting manufacturing processes, production equipment, tooling, hardware, or software.
  • Experience with new product introduction, product development, manufacturing engineering, or process improvement.

Skills

Working at the cutting edge of tech, you’ll always have new challenges and new problems to solve - and working together is the only way to do that. You won’t work in a silo. Instead, you’ll be part of a creative, dynamic work environment where you’ll collaborate with supportive colleagues. There is always space for creative and unique points of view. You’ll have the flexibility and trust to choose how best to tackle tasks and solve problems.

To thrive in this job, you’ll need the following skills:

  • Apply strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills to complex technical challenges.
  • Work independently while collaborating effectively across engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to colleagues with different levels of technical expertise.
  • Take ownership of problems and drive solutions through implementation.
  • Influence cross-functional partners and build productive working relationships.
  • Balance immediate production needs with sustainable, long-term improvements.
  • Coach colleagues and share technical knowledge across the organization.
  • Challenge existing processes and identify practical opportunities for improvement.
