ASML is a semiconductor equipment manufacturer specializing in high-precision photolithography systems, computational lithography software, and metrology and inspection solutions. Headquartered in Veldhoven, Netherlands, the enterprise is the world’s sole supplier of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines - including next-generation High-NA EUV platforms - alongside a broad portfolio of deep ultraviolet (DUV) systems. Through its global network of R&D centers, manufacturing facilities, and field support services across Europe, Asia, and North America, the organization enables global semiconductor foundries and chipmakers to fabricate advanced logic and memory microchips.

Introduction to the Job

ASML brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography systems that are critical to producing faster, more powerful and energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service advanced systems that enable the world's leading chipmakers to create smaller, more capable semiconductor devices that power the technologies people use every day. Headquartered in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, ASML operates globally with 18 office locations across the United States, including major sites in Chandler, Arizona; San Jose and San Diego, California; Wilton, Connecticut; and Hillsboro, Oregon.

As a Upgrade Install and Relocation Generalist, you will play a critical role in supporting the successful execution of EUV system upgrades, installations, relocations, and de-installation projects. Acting as a technical expert within ASML's Customer Support organization, you will provide proactive technical guidance, risk assessment, troubleshooting support, and escalation management to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and according to plan.

Working closely with project teams, engineers, customers, and technical support organizations, you will help prevent issues before they occur, resolve complex technical challenges, and drive continuous improvement across EUV Upgrade, Install, and Relocation activities. Your expertise will directly contribute to project success, customer satisfaction, and the advancement of ASML's leading-edge lithography technology.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Upgrade Install and Relocation Generalist, you will serve as a technical expert supporting the preparation and execution of complex EUV upgrade, installation, and relocation projects. You will leverage your system knowledge, problem-solving skills, and cross-functional collaboration to identify risks, resolve technical issues, and drive successful project execution.

You will:

  • Analyze technical risks and issues identified during the planning and execution of EUV installations, upgrades, de-installations, and relocation projects, providing recommendations on cycle time, resource requirements, and project readiness.
  • Monitor project execution and proactively identify potential risks, bottlenecks, and performance impacts, implementing mitigation plans to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex system and project-related issues, coordinating support across engineering, field service, global support centers, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to enable rapid containment, resolution, and recovery of technical challenges while minimizing impact to project schedules and customer operations.
  • Manage and drive technical escalation processes, ensuring appropriate support levels are engaged, escalation protocols are followed, and critical issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Communicate project status, technical risks, issue resolution plans, and key updates to management, project teams, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions, leveraging lessons learned and best practices to prevent recurring issues and improve future project execution.
  • Review project plans, execution scenarios, and operational readiness requirements to identify gaps, missing resources, and potential constraints before deployment.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), project teams, and Fab Operations activities through both remote and on-site technical expertise, ensuring successful implementation of new upgrades and installation solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement and workforce development initiatives by identifying skill gaps, sharing technical knowledge, supporting training efforts, and enhancing safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, Mathematics, Applied Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum three years of experience supporting SRC/DL activities on EUV systems preferred.
  • Experience supporting EUV system installations, upgrades, relocations, or field operations in customer environments.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and resolving complex electromechanical, system-level, or process-related issues.
  • Experience managing technical escalations and coordinating support across cross-functional engineering organizations.
  • Familiarity with project execution, operational readiness, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
  • Experience analyzing technical data and utilizing reporting tools to support issue resolution and decision-making.

Skills

Working at the cutting edge of technology, you'll continuously face new challenges and opportunities to solve complex problems. Success depends on collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results. You will work alongside talented colleagues in a dynamic environment where diverse perspectives are valued and continuous learning is encouraged.

To thrive in this job, you'll need the following skills:

  • Apply strong analytical thinking and advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose, contain, and resolve complex technical and system-level issues.
  • Demonstrate deep technical knowledge of EUV systems, customer support operations, and escalation management processes.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, engineers, project teams, leadership, and other stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Collaborate effectively across global, cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and drive successful outcomes.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities, schedules, technologies, and customer requirements in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate ownership, accountability, sound judgment, and professionalism while working independently and under pressure.
  • Manage technical escalations effectively, driving issue resolution through appropriate support channels and stakeholder engagement.
  • Learn, apply, and share new technologies, products, and processes, while coaching, mentoring, and developing team capabilities.
