Overview
We are seeking an experienced Principal Aviation Analyst to join our Aviation team. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership in aviation forecasting, demand modelling, capacity analysis, air traffic assessments, and strategic airport planning projects across regional and international markets. This role requires a highly analytical professional with strong aviation industry knowledge, advanced modelling capabilities, and the ability to work as part of multidisciplinary project teams, while delivering high-quality advisory solutions to airport operators, government entities, investors, and aviation stakeholders.
As Principal Aviation Analyst, you will be responsible for leading terminal and airfield planning, running simulations using CAST (airfield and terminal), and forecasting air traffic demands. You will leverage your experience of airport operations, capacity planning, simulation, forecasting, and analysis bring true value to our Clients as they embark on developments to deliver world class airports and experiences across some of the fastest growing airports in the world.
Bringing your unique and analytical skillset, you interface across multiple disciplines, working closely within Transportation and Building Design, alongside taking opportunities to upskill and mentor teams, and share best practices, across regions, and playing a supporting role across wider analytical tasks within the Aviation market.
This role requires not only deep expertise in capacity planning, simulation, and forecasting, but also domain knowledge of airport operations and regulations.
Your role
- Lead the development and delivery of aviation demand forecasting and modelling assignments.
- Conduct passenger, aircraft movement, cargo, and airport capacity forecasts using industry-recognized methodologies.
- Develop and maintain airport simulation, forecasting, and network planning models.
- Undertake airport capacity, terminal planning, airfield planning, and operational performance assessments.
- Deliver aviation-related economic, market, and traffic analyses to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
- Review and validate aviation datasets, forecasting assumptions, and modelling outputs.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
- Manage multiple aviation advisory and modelling projects simultaneously.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including planners, economists, engineers, and data analysts.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to airport operators, aviation authorities, government agencies, and private sector clients.
- Lead technical discussions and stakeholder workshops.
- Support proposal preparation, technical methodologies, and business development activities.
- Identify new opportunities within existing client accounts and emerging aviation markets.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to analysts and junior consultants.
- Support capability development in aviation forecasting, modelling, and analytics.
- Promote technical excellence and innovation across the aviation advisory team.
About you
Requirements
- 12+ years of related professional Aviation experience, including substantial experience of delivering capacity planning and modelling projects.
- Strong demonstrated hands on experience in the aviation sector is essential, up to date with the latest practices and approaches in IATA ADRM, and use of CAST simulation software.
- Proven success delivering complex consulting or engineering programs with multiple stakeholders and high visibility.
- Strong understanding of airport operations, airline networks, aviation economics, and industry trends.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Transport Planning, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related discipline. Masters is preferred.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, scenario modelling, and forecasting methodologies.
- Advanced knowledge of data analytics tools and software such as Excel (Advanced), Power BI, Python, R, SQL, and Aviation forecasting and simulation tools.
Good to Haves
- Experience working with clients in the GCC region.
- Arabic language would be a plus.
