Job Description
Overview
The Reporting Analyst supports project reporting by independently collecting, validating, and consolidating project data to produce routine reports, dashboards, and summaries that support cost, schedule, progress, and performance reporting.
Your role
- Prepare and maintain routine project cost, schedule, progress, and performance reports.
- Collect, validate, consolidate, and analyze project reporting data.
- Support project setup, monitoring, control, and reporting across the project lifecycle.
- Provide timely month-end cost report updates for assigned project control accounts.
- Track actual costs against budgets and support basic variance analysis.
- Develop knowledge of cost components, estimates, budgets, and reporting baselines.
- Develop knowledge on planning components.
- Apply basic Earned Value Management principles to support performance reporting.
- Support risk and contingency inputs within project baselines and estimates.
- Maintain dashboards, trackers, logs, templates, and project controls records.
- Identify data inconsistencies, reporting gaps, and cost impacts for review.
- Follow company procedures and general project control practices.
- Prepare special assignments, ad hoc reports, and data extracts as required.

- Works under general supervision on routine reporting deliverables.
- Develops knowledge of project controls reporting standards and tools.
- May support multiple projects or teams with recurring reporting activities.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree, relevant post-secondary diploma, or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of relevant cost control, reporting, project support, or data analysis experience.
- Engineering or construction project experience is an asset.
- Certifications or specialized training may be required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with strong foundational Excel skills.
- Able to use Excel formulas, pivot tables, and templates for basic data analysis.
- Developing knowledge of Oracle 12, EcoSys, and project controls systems.
- Able to learn and apply new software and reporting tools.
- Basic understanding of project management, CPM, progress measurement, and EVM.
- Foundational knowledge of cost monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
- Basic understanding of project controls policies, procedures, and reporting standards.
- Basic knowledge of planning and use of Primavera-P6.
- Awareness of financial processes in engineering or construction projects is an asset.
- Organized and detail-oriented in handling data, reports, and deadlines.
- Able to prioritize assigned tasks and work under pressure with guidance.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to read technical documents and prepare clear emails, memos, and report inputs.
- Good analytical skills with the ability to identify basic issues and data gaps.
- Follows task-based instructions and escalates issues when required.
- Able to work collaboratively with the Project Controls team and project stakeholders.
- Demonstrates professional behaviours consistent with the Code of Conduct.
