Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roadway Design Engineering Intern - Summer 2027 to join our Raleigh, NC office.
Your Role
- Support the design and delivery of roadway transportation projects across North Carolina.
- Assist with the preparation of construction plans, reports, and project documentation.
- Learn to apply NCDOT roadway design standards and engineering best practices.
- Utilize engineering software to develop and revise project deliverables.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers in a team-oriented environment.
- Gain exposure to project development from preliminary design through final plan production.
About You
- EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required if currently enrolled in a degree seeking program
- EDUCATION: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with CADD software, AutoCAD or Openroads Designer (preferred)
- Strong problem solving and teamwork abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information
Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourlydepending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
