Job Description

Overview

Are you looking to join a company that delivers major engineering projects around the world? Do you want to make a tangible impact by improving the daily lives of communities across the globe? Are you eager to be part of an inclusive and diverse team you can truly rely on? You’ve come to the right place!

AtkinsRéalis is proud to participate in the Alto high-speed rail project connecting Québec City and Toronto as an experienced partner within the Cadence consortium.

This consortium, comprised of CDPQ Infra, AtkinsRéalis, SYSTRA Canada, Keolis Canada, Air Canada, and SNCF Voyageurs, was selected by the Government of Canada to develop this project following a rigorous procurement process. Through our expertise, we will help deliver optimal performance and seamless service across a modern railway network.

And this is only the beginning! As we continue to grow, we are looking for passionate and talented Senior Engineers to help shape the future of high-speed rail in Canada.

Reporting to the Bridges and Structures Team Lead, the Senior Engineer will be responsible for carrying out engineering activities related to road and railway bridges and structures, including planning, design, calculation verification, and the execution of various technical studies in the field of road and railway bridge engineering.

Your role

  • Deliver road and railway bridge structure projects by reviewing assignments, structure-related information, operational requirements, and technical specifications.
  • Design structures by defining technical solutions, performing structural analysis and calculations, and reviewing engineering calculations and drawings.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, establish project schedules, estimate construction costs, and support clients during tendering and construction phases.
  • Apply and maintain proficiency in bridge and structural engineering design software used in Québec, including Advanced Design America, CSIBridge, or SAFI.
  • Contribute to the advancement of the bridge engineering field through participation in internal and external technical committees, mentoring junior engineers and Engineers-in-Training (EITs), and continuously developing technical expertise.
  • Foster a healthy work environment focused on safety, respect, teamwork, ethical professional practice, and personal development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other business units, perform technical support and verification activities, and help ensure services meet corporate and client requirements.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in Structural Engineering.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • More than 8 years of experience in bridge and civil structures engineering, specifically in design.
  • Ability to actively participate in major bridge and structural infrastructure projects and experience serving as a Project Manager.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written French, basic proficiency in spoken and written English, and excellent communication, client service, and stakeholder interaction skills.
