The Role:

The Sr. Director of Engineering will leada multi-disciplinary engineering team(40+)responsible for both people management and project execution.Most ofyour time will be focused on project execution. In this role you will lead a team focused ondeveloping new products byworking closely with the Product Management team on customer-focusedsolutions. The Sr. Director ofEngineeringreports to theVice Presidentof NPD and Innovation Engineering.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

Line/PeopleManagement

• Provide mentoring and coaching to your team

• Conduct effective 1:1s, feedback, performance assessments

• Own hiring, onboarding, and succession planning for your team

• Encourage subject matter sharing and facilitate training

• Identify and drive continuous improvement

Project Execution

• Leads a multi-disciplinary group of engineersto develop HW solutionsfrom concept to delivery

• Work closely with Product Management to understand the customerneedsand develop solutions that meet or exceed expectations within time and budget constraints

• Promote a culture ofexecutionand engineering discipline

• Evaluate potential solutionsfor compatibility with system requirementsby workingacross teams and cultures to alignstrategies and goalsto existing and future AutoStoresystems

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and look for ways to improve teamsand systems at AutoStore

• Develop and track associated KPIs

Key Qualifications:

• 15+ years of experience in delivering customer focused solutions and productsat volume (areas of relevance are robotics, IoT, mechanical, embedded systems,and electronics)

• Experience in managing large global engineering engineers from multiple disciplines executing a diverse set of projects

• Develop and mature modern processes that drive effective execution while ensuring reliable products

• Ability to motivate people and create a safe work environment

• Excellent communication skills across organizational levels

• Ability to think wholistic and contribute to strategic planning

• Familiar with Project Management concepts

• Demonstrates business-oriented acumen

• Master's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
