Avery Dennison is an American materials science company whose predecessor invented the self-adhesive label in 1935, and it remains the largest supplier of pressure-sensitive label materials in the world. Its more interesting recent business is intelligent labels: radio frequency identification tags applied to individual items of clothing, food and medical supplies, which let a retailer or hospital know what it actually has rather than what its records claim. Headquartered in Mentor, Ohio and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it supplies materials to converters and printers rather than selling finished labels to end users.

As a Business System Analyst at Avery Dennison, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions. The purpose of this role is to analyze, optimize, and maintain enterprise business systems to enhance operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and support strategic organizational objectives across departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with key business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional requirements and technical specifications for system enhancements.

  • Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective technical or process solutions.

  • Lead system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and validation to ensure robust functionality prior to deployment.

  • Map current business processes and identify opportunities for automation, integration, and continuous improvement.

  • Develop detailed documentation, process workflows, and deliver training to end-users across teams.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Business System Analyst, Systems Analyst, or in a similar enterprise IT role.

  • Strong background in requirements gathering, process mapping, and system testing methodologies and implementation

Skills you need to succeed:

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.

  • Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills.
