Sr. Backend Developer - Java

Responsibilities:

• As a Senior Backend Developer, you will play a key role in designing and building scalable backend services and APIs for our trading and financial applications. This is a hands-on development role.
• Design, implement, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data processing systems.
• Collaborate with product managers and frontend engineers to build robust, scalable features.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code following modern development practices.
• Participate in system design discussions, architecture reviews, and code reviews.
• Improve service performance, scalability, reliability, and observability.
• Help evolve our microservices architecture and CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify and reduce technical debt, proposing sustainable long-term solutions.
• Monitor, identify, and optimize performance bottlenecks.
• Mentor junior engineers through design guidance, reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to backend best practices, documentation, and team processes.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in backend development, with a strong understanding of designing and building scalable backend services and APIs.
• Strong experience in developing clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-tested production-quality code.
• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and building reliable, scalable distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of system design, software architecture, design patterns, and API design.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and modern software development practices.
• Strong understanding of performance optimization, troubleshooting bottlenecks, and improving application scalability and reliability.
• Experience working with observability, monitoring, logging, and debugging to maintain production systems.
• Ability to identify technical debt, evaluate trade-offs, and implement sustainable long-term solutions.
• Experience collaborating closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver robust features.
• Strong understanding of code reviews, testing practices, documentation, and engineering best practices.
• Ability to participate in architecture reviews and system design discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
