Your Role at Axual

As a Backend (Full-Stack) Software Engineer, you’ll:

Design and build features that make our solutions scalable, secure, and easy to use

Work with modern open-source tools, from Java to Kafka and Docker

Contribute to a wide range of real projects: Kafka-related projects, Helm charts, and our Terraform provider.

Write clean, testable, and maintainable code that powers real-time data platforms

Collaborate in a cross-functional, agile team where ideas matter and ownership is key

Support our customers and share your knowledge with colleagues and the wider tech community

What You Bring

3+ years experience with Java in a professional environment (preferably enterprise)

Deep understanding of microservices architecture and containerization

Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes

Familiarity with Git, Maven, and CI/CD practices

A strong product mindset - proud of what you build and care about the “why” behind it

Bonus Points For:

⭐ Experience with Apache Kafka or other streaming/messaging systems

⭐ Experience with Kafka Connect we build and maintain Connect plugins

⭐ Working knowledge of Helm Charts

⭐ Effective use of AI coding tools like Claude Code
