Overview

As the Strategic Sourcing Analyst, you will serve as a key procurement partner to Sales, Solutions Architecture, Engineering, and our Service Delivery team, helping design, price, and source the materials needed to support opportunity wins and project profitability. This role reviews technical bill of materials, determines the optimal sourcing strategy for each line item, and works closely with OEMs, distributors, and internal stakeholders to secure competitive pricing, availability, and terms. The Strategic Sourcing Analyst also evaluates deal registration, special pricing, rebates, promotions, and substitution opportunities to improve total cost and protect margin. Success in this fast-paced, deadline-driven role requires strong knowledge of the IT hardware and software channel, the ability to manage a high volume of concurrent quote requests, and the judgment to identify sourcing risks and recommend cost-effective alternatives throughout the solution design process.

Your Impact

  •  Analyze technical Bills of Materials to determine the optimal sourcing strategy for each item, balancing cost, availability, lead time, and program eligibility.
  • Solicit, compare, and validate quotes from OEMs, distributors, and alternate channels to secure accurate pricing and the most competitive total cost.
  • Identify appropriate substitute products or alternate SKUs when primary items present pricing availability, or lead-time constraints.
  • Evaluate and pursue deal registration, special pricing, rebates, promotions, and incentive programs to protect margin and improve deal economics.
  • Monitor special pricing approvals, quote expirations, cost changes, and renewals from initial request through final quote completion.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with distributor representatives, OEM channel teams, and other strategic supplier partners.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and availability with suppliers while proactively resolving quote issues, pricing discrepancies, and registration conflicts.
  • Collaborate with Solutions Architects, Sales Engineers, and sales teams throughout solution design and handoff to identify sourcing risks and recommend cost-effective alternatives.
  • Manage a high volume of concurrent quote requests, prioritizing work based on urgency, sales stage, and customer commitments.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready quote records in accordance with internal procurement policies and vendor agreement terms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in IT product quoting, procurement, distribution, or a related channel role within the IT/technology industry.
  • Strong working familiarity with major cable/connectivity and equipment OEMs and national distributors.
  • Practical knowledge of deal registration, SPA, and competitive/special pricing processes.
  • Demonstrated negotiation experience with a track record of securing favorable pricing and terms from suppliers.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, both internally (sales, solutions engineering) and externally (distributors, OEMs).
  • Ability to read and interpret a technical Bill of Materials and translate it into an actionable sourcing plan.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency with quoting/CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce, ServiceNow, CPQ tools) and Microsoft Excel.
