Purpose of the role

To set the risk appetite setting for the Trading portfolio and active calibration & monitoring of limits

Accountabilities

• Collection and analysis of market data from various sources and ensuring risk is correctly captured, modelled and capitalised.
• Escalation of critical risk issues or breaches to Traders and senior Risk Management Leadership teams for timely action, as may be required.
• Review and provision of feedback on market risk models including change governance.
• Internal, Regulatory and Scenario stress testing for the Trading portfolio, as required.
• Steer and execution projects of market risk wide-significance e.g. FRTB, One Risk, as required.

Join Barclays as an AVP - eTrading & Digital Asset Risk, supporting the risk oversight, governance, and control framework across electronic trading and digital asset activities. You will partner with Front Office, Technology, and Control Functions to identify emerging risks, assess controls, and strengthen risk management across trading products, algorithms, and new technologies. This role will leverage data analytics, automation, and technical solutions to enhance risk monitoring, reporting, and strategy. You will also provide effective challenge to senior stakeholders while helping drive scalable and innovative approaches to risk governance.

To be successful as an AVP - eTrading & Digital Asset Risk, you should have:

• Experience in market risk, electronic trading risk, operational risk, risk governance, or similar second-line risk functions
• Understanding of electronic and algorithmic trading controls and risk management frameworks
• Advanced experience with Alteryx and Tableau
• Data analysis, process automation, and technical development capabilities

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Experience using SQL, Python, AI tools, or other automation technologies
• Ability to analyze complex datasets and develop risk reporting, dashboards, and management information
• Stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills, including engagement with senior leadership
• Knowledge of digital assets, algorithmic trading, data governance, or associated regulatory requirements preferred

Minimum Salary: $ 100,000

Maximum Salary: $160,000
