ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Finance & Operations Analyst to be the Swiss Army knife of our Operations & Finance team. You will own the numbers - month-end close, accounting, and FP&A - and you will also own smaller tasks that keep a fast-growing startup running, from office logistics to getting a new teammate's laptop set up.

This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the Head of Operations & Finance. You will see the entire business: how revenue is recognized, where money goes, what it costs to grow, and where the process is still held together with duct tape. Your job is to close the books accurately, build the reporting leadership relies on, and then go fix the duct tape.

This is not a role for someone who wants a narrow lane. We are looking for someone who is willing to get their hands dirty, moves fast, and takes as much pride in a clean reconciliation as in unblocking a teammate on a Friday afternoon.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

FP&A & Reporting

• Track and analyze unit economics and SaaS metrics - ARR, gross margin, NDR, burn multiple, and more
• Build and maintain the operating model, budget vs. actuals, and rolling cash forecast
• Produce recurring management and board-level reporting on revenue, burn, runway, and departmental spend
• Turn ambiguous questions into clear analysis: what is this costing us, what is driving the variance, and what should we do about it

Business Operations

• Improve and automate the finance stack - billing, invoicing, expense management, and procurement
• Own vendor and software spend management, including renewals and contracts
• Support compliance and corporate housekeeping in partnership with Legal and Compliance including annual SOC2, penetration testing, business insurance and more
• Support HR and Recruiting with on/off-boarding, assisting new employees, and general support requests
• Work with BI tooling to provide valuable insights to internal key players

Accounting & Month-End Close

• Assist with the month-end close process end to end - journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and account reconciliations
• Manage account mapping for credit card payments and billing
• Partner with our outside accountants and tax advisors on close support, year-end, and compliance filings

Office & Internal Support

• Keep the office running - supplies, vendors, seating, events, and the day-to-day logistics of an in-person team
• Serve as first-line internal helpdesk: laptop setup, SaaS provisioning and access, and basic IT troubleshooting for new hires and the broader team
• Jump on ad-hoc projects across the business wherever the need is greatest

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 1 to 3 years of experience in accounting, FP&A, finance, or business operations
• Hands-on experience supporting a month-end close, including reconciliations and journal entries
• Highly advanced Microsoft Excel - this is a must
• Tech savvy and quick to pick up new systems, with a bias toward automating manual work
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high bar for accuracy
• Willing to get your hands dirty and take on tasks that might operate outside a job description

WHAT SETS YOU APART

• Startup experience, ideally at an early-stage company where you built process rather than inherited it
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks or a similar accounting system
• SQL skills and experience with BI tools; Metabase is a plus
• Experience with billing, expense management, or procurement tooling
• You are proactive, self-directed, and comfortable operating without detailed instructions
• You are a true Swiss Army knife - you would rather own ten things well than one thing narrowly
• You want to be foundational and help build something that lasts

WORK LOCATION

• Based in NYC; 5 days a week

COMPENSATION

• Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 + Bonus + Equity
