Responsibilities

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for supporting profitable growth through strategic marketing, relationship management, and business development activities. This role develops and executes marketing initiatives, analyzes market and business performance data, and collaborates with underwriting and cross-functional teams to identify growth opportunities while serving as a key liaison with customers, agents, and brokers.

Key functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Collaborate with underwriting teams to gather information, evaluate opportunities, and support account renewal and pricing strategies.
• Build and maintain relationships with existing customers, agents, brokers, and prospective clients to support profitable growth objectives.
• Assist in analyzing business portfolios, market opportunities, and production results to identify growth and profitability trends.
• Promote additional products, coverages, and programs to existing customers and distribution partners to increase retention and premium growth.
• Support the onboarding, transfer, and ongoing management of agency, broker, and customer relationships.
• Prepare reports and presentations that provide insights into business performance, market conditions, and growth opportunities.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support strategic business development and marketing initiatives.
• Represent the organization at industry events, networking functions, trade shows, and customer meetings to strengthen relationships and promote company offerings.
• Conduct market research and networking activities to identify industry trends, customer needs, and competitive opportunities.
• Create and distribute marketing content, including newsletters, promotional materials, website content, social media posts, and business communications.
• Develop and execute marketing initiatives across multiple channels, including digital, print, email, and social media.
• Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics, including prospect activity, hit ratios, retention results, and new business production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Insurance Designations preferred
• 5+ years of experience working in Property Casualty or Commercial Lines
• Established broker and retailer relationships preferred
• Demonstrated history of generating significant new business growth and expanding distribution networks
• Experience utilizing CRM platforms, sales analytics tools, and AI driven technologies to support business development strategies
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business intelligence tools
• Ability to thrive in both independent and highly collaborative environments

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full-time regular employees which for this role include: • Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 • Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus. • Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Wellness, Paid Time Off, 401(k) and Profit-Sharing plans. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
