Snowflake Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Snowflake Data Engineer to support enterprise data transformation initiatives involving SAP S/4HANA source systems, Snowflake cloud data platform, and Ataccama for data quality and governance.

The role focuses on building scalable data pipelines, enabling seamless data movement, and ensuring high-quality, governed data delivery for downstream analytics and business consumption.

Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Integration

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines for data extraction from SAP S/4HANA into Snowflake

  Build scalable data ingestion frameworks (batch and/or real-time) for structured and semi-structured data

  Implement transformation logic using SQL, Snowflake features (Streams, Tasks), or supporting tools (e.g., Spark/ADF/DBT if applicable)

• Snowflake Platform Development
• Develop and optimize data models, schemas, and pipelines within Snowflake

  Manage performance tuning including:

• Query optimization

  Warehouse sizing

Data partitioning and clustering

• Implement best practices for cost and performance optimization
• Data Quality & Governance (Ataccama)
• Integrate and support Ataccama for:
• Data quality rules
• Data validation framework

Data profiling and monitoring

• Ensure data consistency between source (S/4HANA) and target layers

  Collaborate on data governance, metadata, and lineage initiatives

• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
• Work closely with business analysts, SAP teams, and data architects

  Translate functional requirements into technical pipeline design

  Provide support during testing, validation, and production deployment

• Operational Excellence
• Monitor data pipelines and resolve production issues

  Implement logging, alerting, and data validation mechanisms

  Support CI/CD and DevOps practices for data pipeline deployment

Requirements

Core Technical Skills

• Strong experience with Snowflake (data modeling, ELT pipelines, performance tuning)
• Experience integrating data from SAP S/4HANA or similar ERP systems
• Solid SQL expertise and data warehousing concepts (star schema, dimensional modeling)
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., ADF, Informatica, Talend, DBT, or similar)
• Data Quality & Governance
• Experience working with Ataccama (preferred) OR similar data quality tools (Informatica DQ, Collibra, etc.)
• Understanding of data governance, validation frameworks, and metadata management
• Programming & Cloud
• Proficiency in Python / PySpark (preferred)
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Exposure to orchestration tools (Airflow, ADF pipelines, etc.)

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in SAP data models (FI, SD, MM, etc.)
• Knowledge of real-time ingestion frameworks
• Experience in data migration or transformation programs
• Snowflake certifications (e.g., SnowPro Data Engineer)
