Engineer - SDET ( Regression Testing)

Bitwarden is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to help the team grow confidently by building a suite of automated regression tests and driving a total-quality approach to software development and delivery. You will contribute directly to the future of the Bitwarden product across web, browser extension, mobile, desktop, CLI, and server components, while working with a great team and an amazing open-source community. This role is primarily for someone strong in C#, test automation framework design, CI/CD integration, and engineering-quality test code.

What You Will Do

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for web, browser extension, mobile, desktop, and CLI applications using C# with Selenium/Appium.
• Design and implement robust, scalable, reusable, and maintainable test automation frameworks across multiple application types.
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline and ensure their reliable execution in build and delivery workflows.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to understand requirements, identify test scenarios, and automate for comprehensive coverage.
• Execute automated tests, analyze results, and surface defects, performance issues, and areas for improvement.
• Review test automation code to uphold coding standards, best practices, and maintainability.
• Establish guidelines and processes for testing community and internal product contributions.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, reporting automation progress, blockers, and upcoming sprint plans.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members on automation best practices and frameworks.
• Document frameworks and processes to support knowledge sharing and long-term maintainability.

What you Bring

• Strong C# proficiency with substantial production test-automation experience (3-5 years).
• Senior automation architecture capability: scalable, reusable, maintainable frameworks; readable/testable code; debugging and edge-case handling across multiple application types.
• CI/CD integration ownership: embedding automated tests into build/delivery pipelines and keeping them stable and trustworthy.
• Solid command of software testing principles and methodologies, with clear collaboration in a distributed, cross-functional team.
• Mobile test automation with Appium.
• Remote/cloud device and browser testing (Sauce Labs, BrowserStack, or similar).
• SaaS, security, identity, privacy, or developer-facing product experience.
• Experience testing alongside and integrating with backend/API services.
• Mentoring junior automation engineers and reviewing test code.
• Experience working in global, distributed technical teams.
• Hands-on AI/ML experience beyond tooling (evaluating or applying AI-generated tests).
