Responsibilities Prepare master production plans based on confirmed orders, approved drawings, material availability, site priorities, and contractual delivery dates. Break down each order into detailed production stages, including: Panel and solid-wood cutting CNC machining and edge banding Veneering, pressing, sanding, and polishing Carpentry and pre-assembly Upholstery, foaming, cutting, and stitching Metal cutting, bending, welding, grinding, and powder coating Final assembly, quality inspection, packing, and dispatch Develop daily and weekly machine-loading schedules, allocating jobs based on machine capacity, manpower, production sequence, and delivery priorities. Calculate production capacity, cycle time, manpower requirements, and expected output for each work centre. Identify bottlenecks, material shortages, overloaded machines, and schedule conflicts before they disrupt production. Coordinate closely with Technical, Procurement, Stores, Production, Quality, Projects, and Logistics teams. Monitor actual output against planned output and issue daily variance reports with recovery actions. Re-sequence production whenever there are drawing revisions, delayed approvals, material shortages, urgent deliveries, or machine breakdowns. Maintain clear visibility of WIP, planned completion dates, production constraints, and dispatch readiness. Ensure optimum utilisation of machinery, labour, materials, and subcontracting resources. Establish measurable production KPIs covering productivity, machine utilisation, schedule adherence, rejection, rework, and on-time completion. Participate in daily production meetings and provide an accurate status of every active order.
Requirements Minimum 5-8 years of production planning experience within a joinery, bespoke furniture, loose furniture, or interior-fit-out manufacturing facility. Practical knowledge of joinery production machinery, CNC operations, upholstery processes, finishing works, and metal fabrication. Strong understanding of BOMs, routing, machine capacity, cycle-time analysis, material planning, WIP control, and production sequencing. Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, cutting lists, BOQs, material specifications, and production details. Proven experience in managing multiple concurrent and customised production orders. Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving capabilities. Able to work directly with factory supervisors and machine operators to validate achievable production targets. Engineering qualification in Industrial, Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, or a related discipline is preferred. The candidate should be proficient in: ERP/MRP production-planning systems, preferably Odoo Manufacturing or an equivalent platform Advanced Microsoft Excel, including capacity planning, dashboards, pivot tables, lookups, and production trackers Microsoft Project or Primavera for overall production scheduling (Optional) CNC nesting and optimization software relevant to panel processing AutoCAD or similar software for reviewing production drawings Expected Deliverables Monthly master production plan Weekly production and machine-loading plan Daily department-wise production targets Order-wise material-readiness tracker Machine-capacity and manpower-utilisation report Planned-versus-actual production report Bottleneck and recovery-action report WIP and dispatch-readiness dashboard The candidate must be assertive, methodical, and highly conversant with factory operations.
