Responsibilities Provide senior-level medical physics support across diagnostic imaging services. Oversee technical and quality assurance activities for CT, X-ray, fluoroscopy, mammography and other imaging modalities, as applicable. Lead and participate in the commissioning and acceptance testing of new diagnostic imaging equipment and systems. Develop and implement commissioning protocols, baseline measurements and performance-testing procedures. Evaluate equipment performance, image quality and radiation dose to ensure systems are suitable for clinical use. Establish and maintain comprehensive quality assurance and quality control programs. Support radiation dose optimization while maintaining appropriate diagnostic image quality. Conduct equipment performance assessments, routine QA testing and troubleshooting. Provide technical input during equipment procurement, installation, upgrades and replacement projects. Work closely with equipment vendors, engineers, radiologists, radiographers and other clinical stakeholders during installation and commissioning activities. Ensure appropriate radiation protection measures and compliance with applicable regulatory and safety requirements. Prepare technical reports, commissioning documentation, QA records and recommendations. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior medical physics professionals.
Requirements The ideal candidate will have: A relevant degree in Physics, Medical Physics or a closely related discipline. Significant clinical experience in diagnostic medical physics / medical imaging physics. Proven hands-on experience in commissioning and acceptance testing of diagnostic imaging equipment. Strong knowledge of diagnostic imaging technologies, radiation protection, dosimetry and image-quality assessment. Experience with quality assurance and performance testing of medical imaging systems. Experience supporting the installation, implementation, upgrade or replacement of imaging equipment. Experience working with multidisciplinary clinical and technical teams. Previous senior, supervisory or lead-level experience will be advantageous. Strong analytical, documentation, communication and problem-solving skills.
