Our team:

The Impact Insights team is part of the Insight Systems group - a cross-functional organization focused on transforming observability into actionable intelligence across Bloomberg’s real-time data platform. Our goal is to ensure that every real-time enterprise data service is understood and improved using insights that reflect client expectations for quality and experience.

Impact Insights plays a critical role in that mission. The team focuses on understanding how anomalies propagate through Bloomberg’s market data pipeline and quantifying their downstream impact - across services, instruments, and clients. We develop systems that pinpoint root causes, calculate blast radii, and enrich incidents with high-quality diagnostic and impact information.

We work closely with engineering, support, and product teams to reduce time-to-detect, investigate, and resolve - while improving our ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders.

Team will be responsible for building:

• Real-time data lineage and topology graphs
• Intelligent, agentic workflows to automate incident enrichment
• Integrated views that connect metadata, system behavior, and client impact

You’ll need to have:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering
• 2+ years in a leadership or mentorship role
• Proficiency in C++ and Python
• The ability to effectively listen, communicate, challenge, and influence team members, peers, and senior managers
• Experience building and operating distributed systems at scale
• Experience working with a global team and stakeholders in various locations

• Strategic thinking in product development and technical decision making
• A track record of driving cross-team technical initiatives and delivering reliable systems
