Blue Origin is an American aerospace company founded quietly by Jeff Bezos in 2000, and funded for two decades largely out of his own fortune rather than external investment. It flies the suborbital New Shepard vehicle for space tourism and research payloads, and developed the heavy-lift New Glenn rocket alongside the BE-4 engine, which also powers United Launch Alliance's Vulcan. Headquartered in Kent, Washington, the company is building the Blue Moon lunar lander under a NASA Artemis contract and has moved from a deliberately slow development culture toward far more aggressive schedules under chief executive Dave Limp.

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

Do you love the big picture? Do you want to stamp your mark on the vehicles that will take humans back to the Moon for the first time in over 50 years? Come join our team and literally propel us across the finish line! We are looking for a fluids systems engineer to help craft the gas systems for the Lunar Transfer Stage spacecraft. Work will include the complete life cycle of the sub-assembly from definition, interfaces, conceptual design, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and operations. This position goes from initial design, to analyzing, to getting hardware, launching, and operating in space.

A successful candidate will understand fluid systems, components, fluid dynamics, and compressible flow for space vehicles.

The position will work under a lead engineer accountable for gas and thruster systems. You will be responsible for systems engineering products that support our gas distribution, gas storage, and RCS thruster assemblies. The position will be responsible for system-level verification of the gas subsystem. This includes requirements and interface definition, gathering test and analysis data, and compiling verification closure documentation to ensure the vehicle meets all requirements and is ready to take us back to the Moon.

The position will work directly on our Transfer Stage Vehicle within the Lunar Permanence Business Unit. Bring you technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.
