C# Developer

Our client is an active investment management firm focused on delivering attractive performance and client portfolio solutions. They believe that technology will play a key role in the future of finance, and have built a robust trading platform to handle scale, complexity and customisation.

They are now looking to hire multiple C# Developers to work within the Enterprise Engineering Compliance and Regulatory team. This group is responsible for the technology solutions implemented across the Regulatory Operations space, meaning the reporting frameworks which combine integrated data flows, and processing of standardized, granular datasets for computation and analysis.

The Role

This role is a mixture between Business-as-Usual (BAU) and project work. Day-to-day tasks will involve maintaining the existing tech stack, providing 3rd line support and also supporting the business with small enhancements and fixes as required. Project work will consist of longer term, more far-reaching changes such as extending existing systems, incorporating new technologies and building out the firm’s technology platform in line with their long-term vision.

This is a high profile role with extensive interaction with business stakeholders and senior management across the Group.

Job Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery process - from requirements gathering through to development, testing and coordinating deployment to production
• Get involved in the planning, design and delivery of longer term projects
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing amongst peers
• Continuous improvement of production components such as reducing tech debt, increasing

  release quality and improving resource utilization

• Encourage and drive adoption of best practices and help improve business knowledge and

  understanding within the team

• Support for production systems and BAU requests
• Depending on seniority - mentoring more junior members of the team

Job Requirements

• Strong delivery focused approach, ensuring business value is being met
• Core experience in C# and .NET
• Query writing, schema design and performance tuning in MS SQL Server
• Ability to balance business delivery and incremental adoption of new architectural platform features
• Confident communicator; able to argue a point concisely and deal positively with conflicting views
• Any working knowledge of Kafka or Mongo would be considered an advantage
