• Full Stack Software Engineer - Hub Platform About the Role We are looking for strong technologists passionate about solving large-scale, highly complex engineering problems in a repeatable and maintainable way. You will join the Hub platform team - building and evolving eBay's internal corporate portal serving tens of thousands of employees globally across features like sites, news, community, AI-powered search, certifications, and learning. What You'll Do Develop features and services in highly scalable and reliable frontend and/or backend systems in a distributed, cloud-native environment - spending most of your time coding and producing exemplary, thoroughly tested code for the most challenging features. Translate product and design documents into clean, high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable production code autonomously. Own and drive feature delivery end-to-end - including design, development, testing, deployment, observability, and monitoring. Work closely with Senior Engineers and Architects to design large-scale distributed systems; prototype ideas quickly using cutting-edge technologies including generative AI integrations. Propose and evaluate multiple design options with estimates, providing technical leadership and mentoring to team members. Write test automations, practice continuous integration and delivery, and conduct code reviews. Structure and complete tasks independently, meeting deadlines while effectively communicating with stakeholders across all domains. Lead engineering support, release, and on-call responsibilities for an always-on 24/7 platform. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience. 5-7 years of experience building large-scale, distributed web platforms and APIs as a full stack developer. Strong CS foundation: data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and system design. Hands-on experience with backend technologies - Java, Spring/Spring Boot, REST APIs, GraphQL - and familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Marko (or vice versa). Experience building data-driven applications using RDBMS, NoSQL, or ElasticSearch. Proficient in automated unit, functional, and integration testing; familiar with TDD, Agile, CI/CD, and Git workflows. AI & Emerging Technology Experience integrating features using LLMs or enterprise AI APIs (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Glean, or similar). Familiarity with AI-assisted developer workflows (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.) to accelerate delivery without sacrificing quality. Understanding of prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or semantic search concepts. Enthusiasm for applying AI responsibly to improve employee experience and automate repetitive platform tasks.
