ROLE Senior Tableau Consultant

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Tableau Senior Consultant is a critical role responsible for data visualization developments using Tableau desktop covering all aspects of development life cycle including requirements gathering, dashboard designing, coding, testing, implementation, publishing on Tableau server, user configuration and support. It includes connection of Tableau with different data sources, writing complex custom SQL queries, data cleaning, ETL activities etc.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Architecting, designing and helping implement Interactive dashboards in Tableau, successfully in customer organizations.

Liaising with Customer, Solution Architect, Functional Consultants and Technical peers to achieve project goals within expected timelines.

Provide support in Data Visualization using Tableau for business requirements across projects.

Mentoring Junior Tableau Team members within the Organization.

Drive and Assist with building Assets and Accelerators within Data Visualization using Tableau for CoE.

Build repository of custom development implemented by Bristlecone for unique business requirements.

Conduct trainings within Practice to build competency.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

8 plus years of Data Analysis Visualization Development experience, at least 3 years in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.

At least 3 end to end Dashboard development using Tableau and Publish on Tableau server project experience.

Tableau Certification would be an added advantage.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

Good level of understanding of all products range of Tableau with expertise in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.

Good understanding of Database concepts, Data Cleaning and ETL activities.

Ability to write complex custom SQL queries to fetch data from various data sources into Tableau.

Well versed with all the features of Tableau e.g. Parameters at data source level, Sets, Bins, Filters, LOD, Actions, Maps, Row level security, Data Blending, Data Joins, Calculated fields, Story board etc.

Good understanding of Data Analysis and have creative bend of mind to develop effective advance data visualization charts.

Ability to design highly interactive dashboards considering best UX practises.

Ability to Publish dashboard on Tableau server, schedule extract refresh, give user permission etc.

Ability to do enhancement in published dashboards at design level, data source level, calculated field level or add new dashboard tabs altogether.

Ability to architect an end to end solution while understanding the integration aspects between Tableau and different databases or data sources.

Ability to work on complex dashboard development scenarios along with writing technical specifications for complex customizations.

Ability to develop advance data visualization charts as per international best practices.

Experience in interacting with functional developers to provide daily operational support as well as solution implementation for enhancements and projects.

Worked on dashboard performance tuning and enhancements of existing dashboards in Tableau.

Exposure of Client discussions, Incident Resolution, New Development, CR Estimation, Solution Proposal.
