Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior AI Security Architect to help shape and scale the future of security architecture within modern software engineering environments. This role combines security architecture, application security, cloud security, software engineering, automation, and applied artificial intelligence to bring security expertise directly into engineering workflows.

The successful candidate will work closely with security architects, engineering teams, platform teams, and business stakeholders to transform security knowledge into practical capabilities that can be embedded throughout the software development lifecycle. This includes designing AI-assisted security solutions, developing reusable security frameworks and design patterns, enabling secure software development practices, and integrating security capabilities into developer tools and platforms.

The role requires both strategic architectural thinking and hands-on technical expertise. You will help build scalable solutions that support secure application design, architecture reviews, cloud adoption, API security, threat identification, automation, and risk management while leveraging AI-driven capabilities to improve efficiency and engineer productivity.

This position is ideal for an experienced security professional who is passionate about modern application development, developer experience, security automation, and the practical adoption of AI within secure engineering environments.

Responsibilities

Security Architecture and Risk Management

• Lead security architecture reviews for applications, cloud platforms, APIs, integrations, and enterprise technology solutions.
• Identify security risks, control gaps, architectural weaknesses, and remediation opportunities.
• Apply security policies, standards, and industry best practices to business and technical solutions.
• Evaluate complex architectures, data flows, application designs, and cloud deployments to ensure security requirements are met.
• Document security recommendations, design trade-offs, residual risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Support governance, risk management, compliance initiatives, and security review processes.

AI-Enabled Security Solutions

• Design and enhance AI-assisted security capabilities that support threat identification, architecture analysis, control mapping, and remediation guidance.
• Develop practical approaches for integrating security recommendations into AI-enabled software development workflows.
• Create capabilities that provide contextual and actionable security guidance throughout the development lifecycle.
• Evaluate AI-generated outputs and ensure recommendations remain accurate, traceable, and aligned with security standards.
• Establish scalable security frameworks that support AI-assisted development, engineering productivity, and secure design practices.

Security Engineering and Automation

• Design and develop workflow automation, security services, APIs, integrations, and reusable tooling that support security operations and engineering teams.
• Build and maintain automation capabilities that reduce repetitive security activities and improve consistency.
• Integrate security controls and validation processes into source control platforms, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code environments, and developer platforms.
• Develop reusable implementation patterns and security guardrails that can be adopted across multiple engineering teams.
• Support the transition of successful prototypes into scalable and maintainable enterprise solutions.

Secure Development Enablement

• Partner with engineering teams to embed security requirements into planning, architecture, development, testing, and deployment processes.
• Create reusable security requirements, reference architectures, secure design patterns, and implementation guidance.
• Develop practical examples and frameworks that support secure application development and DevSecOps practices.
• Promote secure coding standards, application security controls, and cloud security best practices.
• Support developers in understanding and adopting secure development methodologies.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

• Act as a trusted advisor to engineering leaders, security teams, cloud architects, platform teams, product owners, and business stakeholders.
• Work with subject matter experts to codify security knowledge, standards, policies, and architectural guidance.
• Translate complex technical risks and security concepts into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor team members and contribute to the growth of security architecture and security engineering capabilities.
• Build strong relationships across global teams to drive adoption of security solutions and best practices.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Extensive experience in Security Architecture, Application Security, Security Engineering, Cloud Security, Platform Engineering, DevSecOps, or a related cybersecurity function.
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise security solutions beyond proof-of-concept stages.
• Strong software development or scripting experience in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar programming languages.
• Experience developing integrations using APIs, automation frameworks, Git-based workflows, developer platforms, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of modern software development lifecycles, cloud-native architectures, and engineering best practices.
• Experience securing cloud environments, applications, APIs, data platforms, and enterprise technology ecosystems.
• Deep understanding of security domains including:
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
  • Application Security

  • Vulnerability Management
  • Security Monitoring and Logging
  • Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC)
• Practical experience with AI technologies, AI-assisted development, agent-based workflows, knowledge-grounded systems, or generative AI applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions and leadership levels.
• Ability to operate effectively within a global, matrixed organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building security automation platforms, developer tooling, internal engineering tools, or AI-enabled security solutions.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, containers, Kubernetes, microservices, event-driven architectures, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
• Experience developing:
  • Security design patterns
  • Threat models
  • Security requirements frameworks
  • Architecture decision records
  • Policy-as-Code implementations
• Familiarity with industry frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, OWASP, CSA, and major cloud security frameworks.
• Experience within financial services, fintech, banking, capital markets, or other highly regulated industries.
• Knowledge of AI security risks, including prompt injection, insecure tool usage, excessive permissions, sensitive data exposure, source provenance, and output validation.
• Professional certifications such as: CISSP, CCSP, CCSK, CSSLP, CISA, CRISC, Security+
• Equivalent industry-recognized certifications
