Job Description - Database Developer
Role: Database Developer
Experience: 6.5+ years - 12 years
Location: Pune, Yerwada
Work Mode: 5 Days WFO
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Database Developer with strong hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server, database development, data pipelines, and database optimization.
The role involves developing and optimizing database solutions, implementing business logic, building data pipelines, performing database migrations, and supporting data quality, security, and governance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, build, and manage database-driven applications and data pipelines.
- Work with PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, Functions, Stored Procedures, and data transformations.
- Implement quality-control functionality for business rules and database logic.
- Migrate business rules and database logic between database technologies.
- Develop and optimize ETL/data processing solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database and data-related issues.
- Implement database monitoring and logging processes.
- Optimize database performance and data processes.
- Follow data security and governance best practices.
- Collaborate with Application and Data/Databricks teams.
- Implement CI/CD processes for database objects and release management.
- Document database procedures, workflows, and pipeline processes.
Required Skills :
- 6.5+ years of experience in database development/database engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server.
- Excellent knowledge of SQL, Functions, Stored Procedures, and database programming.
- Strong Python skills.
- Experience with ETL and data pipeline development.
- Experience with database migration and business-rule transformation.
- Strong database performance optimization and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with CI/CD for database objects.
- Understanding of database security, governance, monitoring, and logging.
- Agile/Scrum experience is preferred.
- Good communication and English skills.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
