CACI International is an American technology company founded in 1962 that works almost entirely for United States defence, intelligence and federal civilian agencies. It has moved from being a conventional IT services contractor toward supplying its own technology, with a substantial expeditionary electronic warfare and signals intelligence product line, photonics and optical communications for space, and secure network modernisation. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the company employs more than twenty thousand people, the majority holding security clearances, and has grown through a steady programme of acquisitions that add differentiated technology rather than headcount alone.

What You’ll Get to Do

You will lead a team of approximately 3-10 analysts, along with program support resources that may include logisticians, engineers, and other personnel. You will apply expertise in business intelligence, contract management, financial management, budgeting, pricing, and CACI enterprise resources to support contracts serving NAVSEA, NSWC, MSC, FMS, USCG, Department of Defense, program, and shipyard clients.

You will provide high-quality support in developing engineering management and operational guardrails for the Naval Engineering Director and the broader team. Working closely with engineering task leads and other HM&E leads, you and your team will support monthly and ad hoc client deliverables, schedules, forecasts, staffing plans, risk and opportunity meetings, and final technical deliverables. You will ensure that project plans are created for each task, workloads are balanced across engineering resources, financials are managed effectively, and labor funding and deliverables are accurately reported in coordination with contract PMO teams.

You will lead internal and client biweekly and monthly reporting for each task instruction, subtask, and contract. You will remain proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases, and Teams, while promoting modern tools such as Power BI, SharePoint, and Power Automate to improve business operations. You will hire and develop staff who can use pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Excel formulas, artificial intelligence, and other data analytics methods to increase management and operational efficiency. As a self-starter and collaborative team member, you will work across engineering management teams and support technical proposal development as needed.

More About the Role

  • Ensure internal and external clients receive accurate technical guidance in a timely manner.
  • Meet with key internal engineering leads to confirm that future project plans and technical deliverables are on track and adequately funded.
  • Develop and improve deliverable reporting and financial forecasting processes to strengthen engineering management, business operations, quality, and the timeliness of customer deliverables.
  • Hire staff to supplement internal and external engineering management resources and foster efficient operational support through automated software and reporting methods for a diverse onsite, hybrid, and remote workforce.
  • Build a proactive team of self-starters, problem-solvers, and digital process-documentation creators who help train the engineering team in procedures and oversight.
  • Develop business process subject matter experts who take ownership of monthly reporting, Excel forecasts, reporting responsibilities, and key main and auxiliary systems.
  • Support defined proposal areas and targeted growth opportunities, with the willingness to learn and lead larger proposal-support efforts.
  • Demonstrate initiative, multitasking ability, technical proficiency, strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and the ability to promote CACI team capabilities.
  • Manage client-facing reporting requirements for project and program status while ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
  • Lead, direct, and review team members’ work to accomplish operational plans and results or complete defined projects and objectives within the assigned job area.
  • Supervise employees, typically at the junior or mid-level.
  • Set clear goals and objectives for team members.
  • Ensure direct reports understand and follow applicable policies, practices, and procedures.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance.
  • Experience briefing decision-makers on complex business issues, including performance, cost, schedule, and risk implications.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports and papers and brief stakeholders on complex technical issues.
  • Ability to support growth in the NAVSEA business and financial management market.
  • Ability to use Microsoft 365 in the Flank Speed environment.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

  • Ten years of experience serving as an engineering lead or key lead for a NAVSEA or MSC team on projects comprising at least 10 full-time equivalents (FTEs).
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or business.
  • Understanding of the capabilities and parameters of various Microsoft software tools.
  • Knowledge and understanding of naval architecture and marine engineering.
  • Specialization in Microsoft database technologies or related tools.
