Communications Coordinator - Public Affairs

The Public Affairs and Communications team at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time, permanent, Communications Coordinator to support internal and external communications, focused primarily on the Thriving Minds Partnership with SickKids and the Garry Hurvitz Centre for Community Mental Health (GH-CCMH). Reporting to the Manager of Communications, and working closely with the rest of the communications team and teams across the three organizations, you will develop, implement and evaluate communications strategies as Thriving Minds looks to expand communication capabilities after going through an extensive branding process and launch. You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This is a hybrid position, which will be onsite at least three times a week in the Bell Gateway Building at 100 Stokes St.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conceptualizing and creating high-quality communications and media content for a variety of print and electronic platforms including all common social media platforms.
• Developing and deploying e-newsletters; and other web-based content. That includes updating the Thriving Minds website.
• Writing will be a key activity in this role as will building and maintaining relationships across Toronto to support organizational priorities as part of the Thriving Minds goals.
• Tracking performance and identifying what is resonating with Youth so that content can be improved over time.
• This role may also support several communications priorities within CAMH as well.

Demonstrated ability to write quality content in a timely manner and translate complex concepts into accessible formats is a required skill. The capacity to think strategically and creatively is critical, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Post-secondary education in communications, journalism, public relations or other related areas combined with 3-5 years professional experience in corporate communications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Superior communication skills, impeccable writing and well-developed story-telling skills are required. Sound judgement, discretion, professionalism, tact, diplomacy and the ability to work effectively as a team member as well as independently in a demanding, deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment are all requirements.

Salary Range: $37.51-$50.60/hour
