Capability HR is a Sydney-based specialist recruitment consultancy focused exclusively on the Human Resources profession.

We're partnering with an established Engineering Consultancy to recruit an experienced Talent Acquisition Business Partner. With a focus on attracting specialist talent in a competitive market, the organisation is looking for someone who brings fresh ideas, strong relationships and a proactive approach to recruitment.

This is an opportunity to move beyond day-to-day hiring and become a trusted partner to business leaders, helping them identify the talent and capabilities needed to support ongoing growth. You'll play an important role in shaping workforce planning, strengthening employer branding and contributing to a positive employee experience.

The Opportunity

Working closely with business leaders and the broader HR team, you'll take responsibility for the full recruitment lifecycle, from understanding business requirements and identifying talent through to supporting successful onboarding.

You'll be encouraged to think beyond immediate vacancies, developing sourcing strategies and talent pipelines that position the organisation to meet future workforce demands. With recruitment spanning technical and specialist positions, you'll have the opportunity to explore different approaches to attracting candidates, build valuable industry connections and provide practical advice to hiring managers.

The role also extends into the broader people function, giving you the opportunity to contribute to graduate and internship programmes, employer branding and employee engagement initiatives. It's a varied position suited to someone who enjoys balancing hands-on recruitment with longer-term people priorities.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage end-to-end recruitment, ensuring a positive experience for candidates and hiring managers.

· Develop proactive sourcing and headhunting strategies to attract talent in competitive markets.

· Partner with business leaders on workforce planning, recruitment priorities and hiring decisions.

· Build talent pipelines through professional networks, industry events and educational partnerships.

· Support the development of graduate and internship programmes.

· Lead employer branding initiatives to strengthen talent attraction and market presence.

· Coordinate onboarding, employment documentation and pre-employment compliance requirements.

· Contribute to employee engagement and retention initiatives.

· Provide recruitment insights, track hiring performance and identify process improvements.

· Guide hiring managers on effective interviewing and recruitment practices.

About You

You're an experienced Talent Acquisition professional who knows how to find great talent, build strong relationships and deliver results in competitive hiring markets. You take initiative, enjoy working with business leaders and bring a practical, people-focused approach to recruitment.

You're comfortable managing recruitment independently while working collaboratively with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver effective hiring solutions. You'll bring curiosity, sound judgement and the confidence to challenge traditional approaches when you see an opportunity to improve outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

· A minimum of 5 years' experience in talent acquisition or recruitment, with a strong track record of successful placements.

· Proven ability to proactively source, headhunt and engage candidates in competitive or skills-short markets.

· Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to collaborate with people at all levels.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships.

· Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple recruitment priorities.

It would also be great if you have:

· Experience recruiting across technical, engineering or other specialist industries.

· Exposure to broader HR functions, including onboarding, compliance and performance management.

· Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline.

Why Consider This Opportunity

If you're looking for a recruitment role where your contribution extends beyond filling vacancies, this opportunity offers the chance to be involved in a wider range of people and business initiatives.

You'll work closely with leaders across the organisation, helping them navigate recruitment challenges and make informed hiring decisions. Your expertise will contribute to building stronger talent pipelines, creating meaningful connections with emerging professionals and enhancing the organisation's reputation as an employer.

With a combination of strategic recruitment, hands-on delivery and broader HR involvement, this role offers variety and the opportunity to see the impact of your work throughout the employee lifecycle.

If you're an experienced Talent Acquisition professional looking for greater ownership, variety and the opportunity to make a difference please apply.
