Capco is a management and technology consultancy founded in 1998 that works exclusively for the financial services industry, covering banking, capital markets, wealth management, insurance and payments. Unlike the broad generalist consultancies it deliberately stays within one sector, which is how it competes for regulatory, risk and core banking transformation work against much larger firms. Headquartered in London with delivery centres across Europe, North America and Asia and a large engineering presence in Poland, the firm has been owned by the French IT services group Wipro since 2021.

Events Marketing Manager - 12-Month FTC - Maternity Cover

Location: London (Hybrid) | Practice Area: Corporate Services | Department: Marketing | Type: 12-Month FTC - Maternity Cover

(Mid-End of November Start Date)

Bring standout events and integrated marketing activations to life, creating experiences and campaigns that connect our clients, colleagues and brand.

The Role

We’re looking for an Events Marketing Manager to join our UK Marketing team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, providing maternity cover. This is a hands-on role with primary responsibility for leading the planning and delivery of high-quality events, while also supporting the wider UK Marketing and Communications agenda.

You’ll take ownership of events from initial concept through to delivery and evaluation, creating engaging experiences that strengthen Capco’s brand, support business priorities, deepen client relationships and contribute to pipeline generation.

Our events portfolio can include client roundtables, conferences, award ceremonies, drinks receptions, partner organisation events and internal town halls, delivered across face-to-face, virtual and hybrid formats.

While events will be the core focus of the role, the responsibilities will not be limited to event management. You’ll work closely with the wider UK Marcomms team, as well as regional marketing counterparts, to support key campaigns and activations across the business. This may include contributing to integrated marketing campaigns, award submissions, reports and newsletters, thought leadership, video and podcast production, and wider client and brand engagement activity

You’ll be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple moving parts and competing priorities, and confident engaging with some of the most senior stakeholders across the business to understand their priorities and translate these into effective marketing activations.

A key part of the role will be collaborating with and managing event agencies, external suppliers, partner organisations and internal stakeholders, ensuring activity is delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget.

The role operates on a hybrid basis. However, due to the nature of events, there will be periods when you may be required to work from the London or one of our Scotland offices for up to five days per week, depending on event schedules and business demand.

About the Role in Practice

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being at the centre of a busy marketing function, is equally comfortable running an event, managing an agency, briefing a senior stakeholder, reviewing campaign performance or supporting a wider marketing campaign, and who can quickly move between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

The successful candidate will play a key role in translating Capco’s consulting capabilities into integrated go-to-market activity, combining thought leadership, digital engagement and senior client events to strengthen market visibility, deepen relationships with priority clients and support pipeline generation.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and delivery of face-to-face, virtual and hybrid events, ensuring a consistently high-quality experience for clients, colleagues and other audiences.
  • Develop and maintain event plans, marketing plans, timelines and delivery schedules, coordinating multiple workstreams from initial brief through to delivery and follow-up.
  • Manage event logistics, venues, suppliers, agencies, production partners, budgets, attendee communications, promotions and on-the-day delivery.
  • Deliver professional virtual and hybrid events using platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams, including setup, speaker support, rehearsals and live-event coordination.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders and business leaders to understand objectives and translate them into engaging, commercially relevant marketing activations and events.
  • Partner with the wider UK Marcomms team and regional marketing counterparts to support integrated go-to-market campaigns, bringing together events, thought leadership, digital engagement and other marketing channels.
  • Support a broad range of marketing activity beyond events, including award submissions, reports, newsletters, thought leadership, video and podcast production, and other campaign activity as required.
  • Use marketing email and automation platforms such as HubSpot to support invitations, event communications, follow-up activity and broader campaign engagement.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies, partner organisations, venues and suppliers, ensuring clear briefs, effective delivery and strong commercial management.
  • Produce event and campaign reporting, evaluating performance against objectives and providing clear insights and recommendations to improve future activity.
  • Gather attendee and stakeholder feedback and use data and insight to continually improve event formats, campaigns and audience experiences.
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, adapting plans quickly as business and event requirements evolve.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience leading the end-to-end planning and delivery of high-quality corporate, client and marketing events - from initial brief and concept through to execution, follow-up and evaluation - across face-to-face, virtual and hybrid formats, including client roundtables, conferences, award ceremonies, drinks receptions, partner events and internal town halls.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events, campaigns, deadlines, budgets and stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence working with senior stakeholders, business leaders, agencies, suppliers and external partners.
  • Practical experience using Zoom and Microsoft Teams to deliver professional virtual and hybrid events.
  • Experience developing and managing marketing and event plans, with strong attention to detail and the ability to keep multiple workstreams moving.
  • Experience using marketing email, CRM or marketing automation platforms, such as HubSpot, to support event and campaign activity.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to measure activity, interpret data and communicate clear recommendations.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute beyond events to support the wider marketing agenda.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with changing priorities and multiple moving parts.
  • Flexibility to support event requirements, including working from the London or Scotland offices for up to five days per week during periods of increased event demand.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience delivering events within financial services, professional services or a consulting environment.
  • Experience managing external event agencies, creative agencies, venues, production partners and other suppliers.
  • Experience supporting integrated go-to-market campaigns combining events, thought leadership, digital engagement and other marketing channels.
  • Experience with HubSpot or similar marketing automation, email marketing or CRM platforms.
  • Knowledge of event registration, attendee management and event technology platforms.
  • Experience using event and campaign data to demonstrate impact, identify trends and make practical recommendations.
  • Experience supporting content production, including reports, newsletters, video, podcasts and thought leadership.
  • Experience working across regional or international marketing teams and adapting global activity for local markets.
