Capgemini is a French information technology services and consulting group founded in Grenoble in 1967 by Serge Kampf, and one of the largest IT service providers in the world. It designs, builds and runs systems for large enterprises and governments across some fifty countries, with a delivery workforce concentrated in India and a European client base heavier than most of its competitors. The group is organised into Capgemini Invent for strategy and design, Capgemini Engineering for research and development services acquired with Altran, and Sogeti for local technology services, and it has reoriented its portfolio around cloud migration, data platforms and generative AI.

At Capgemini Engineering, the world leader in engineering services, we bring together a global team of engineers, scientists, and architects to help the world’s most innovative companies unleash their potential. From autonomous cars to life-saving robots, our digital and software technology experts think outside the box as they provide unique R&D and engineering services across all industries. Join us for a career full of opportunities. Where you can make a difference. Where no two days are the same.

YOUR ROLE

As a Procurement Engineer, you will provide expert technical support across the full supplier lifecycle - from sourcing and production preparation through to mass production and crisis response. Working in close alignment with our client's Purchasing Engineering team on-site, you will play a key role in ensuring supplier readiness, managing risk and driving continuous improvement across the supply base.

In this role you will play a key role in:

  • Reviewing supplier proposals, manufacturing concepts, process flows, tooling plans and capacity submissions, identifying and documenting technical, quality, delivery and project risks with clear countermeasures
  • Planning and coordinating supplier production preparation activities from nomination and drawing release through to Start of Production, supporting or leading Supplier Parts Tracking Team (SPTT) activities including readiness checks, on-site confirmations and action follow-up
  • Reviewing tooling, equipment and process readiness, attending supplier trials and documenting findings, abnormalities and verified countermeasure status against quality, production rate and process stability targets
  • Assessing supplier manufacturing performance and supporting improvement activities using lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles, including structured problem solving, visual management and process confirmation
  • Monitoring assigned suppliers for technical, quality, delivery, capacity and operational risks, supporting root cause analysis, coordinating recovery actions and providing concise escalation with impact assessments and countermeasure status to key stakeholders

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for a proactive and structured professional who is confident working in a fast-paced, supplier-facing environment. You will bring a strong technical foundation in industrialisation, supply chain or procurement, combined with the communication skills to engage effectively with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • A background in industrialisation, supply chain or procurement engineering, with 2 or 3 years of relevant experience in a technical or supplier-facing role
  • Experience in or strong familiarity with the automotive sector, including an understanding of supplier production preparation processes, capacity planning and quality management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex supplier situations, identify risks and drive structured countermeasures to closure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English, with the confidence to be assertive with suppliers and present clearly to internal stakeholders; additional language skills are a plus
