[What the role is]

The internship aims to provide the intern with practical exposure to youth engagement, partnership development, programme design and data-driven planning within the People’s Association (PA).

Through working with PA Youth Networks (YNs), youth organisations, schools and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), the intern will contribute towards efforts to:

  • Better understand and map Singapore’s evolving youth landscape, including cause-based groups, civic groups, societies and other youth organisations.
  • Strengthen partnerships between PA’s 95 Youth Networks and like-minded youth organisations based on common interests, causes and community needs.
  • Support PA’s youth transformation efforts by widening youth participation and developing sustainable pathways for young people to progress from participants and volunteers to active community contributors.
  • Strengthen the social impact of youth programmes through better use of data, resources and funding.

• Explore new engagement platforms and programmes that can reach youth segments beyond PA’s existing networks.

[What you will be working on]

The intern will:

Map and profile the youth landscape by researching relevant cause-based groups, civic groups, societies and other youth organisations, and identifying potential areas of collaboration with PA Youth Networks.

Profile PA’s 95 Youth Networks, organising their programmes and focus areas according to the three pillars of the FutureYOUth Movement, to facilitate better matching of YNs with potential partners and opportunities.

Support youth transformation initiatives, including working with the Singapore Scout Association on the rollout of a community-focused badge programme that connects Scouts with PA’s grassroots and community networks.

Support the development of youth volunteering pipelines by exploring collaborative programmes involving Youth Networks, ground-up youth groups, Secondary Schools and Institutes of Higher Learning.

Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis on youth and sports participation and engagement, and translate findings into insights and recommendations for future initiatives.

Support the review and rollout of youth funding policies, including considering how funding can enable Youth Networks to achieve stronger social impact while balancing resource constraints and trade-offs.

Support the rollout of PA’s Youth & Sports drone programme with Youth Networks to engage new youth segments, widen PA’s youth networks and create opportunities for community participation.

Work with PA officers, Youth Networks and external stakeholders to support programme planning, coordination and implementation. The intern will:
