Overview

Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for leading budgeting and forecasting initiatives and strategically analyzing financial data to identify trends and improve decision making. They will be responsible to support with analysis and reporting for audits, support with preparing, analyzing and presenting financial results and working to improve current processes and operational efficiency, including through financial models and the configuration and implementation of an ERP system.

This position is full time, will require in office expectations a couple times a week in our Waterloo, ON office.

What The Role Involves

• Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and anomalies.
• Budgeting and forecasting: Facilitate the annual budget process with support from the Controller, including volume forecasts, cashflow reporting and reforecasting.
• Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial results compared to budget and prior year for the organization, each department and business lines.
• Act as a cross-functional partner with Operations and shared services teams to align systems, processes and financial drivers.
• Work with operations to define, measure, analyze, improve current processes and influence internal. operating efficiency.
• Provide strategic analysis as required to drive improved decision making.
• Work with operations on service offering pricing, costing and margins.
• Responsible for the preparation and submission of external reporting requirements including but not limited to for Statistics Canada, Ministry of Health and Ontario Health atHome.
• Participate in analysis and reporting for audits, Senior Leadership and Board reporting.
• Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
• Proactively identify system improvement opportunities and finance processes to streamline workflows.
• Data reporting: Using financial data to provide insights, including supporting the data analytics and payroll and benefits teams.
• Support in updating financial policies when necessary.
• Build Ad-hoc financial models and to provide financial analysis to better support our current and future business.
• Participate in configuration and implementation ERP system.
• Other related duties and required or assigned

What You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 - 5 years' progressive experience in a Financial Planning and Analysis role
• CPA designation preferred.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
• A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
• Ability to interpret, write and negotiate contractual agreements.
• Experience in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, Sage is considered an asset.
• Experience working in the health care sector would be an asset.
• Mathematical skills with ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages and averages required.
• Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
• Experience with building and implementing new systems considered an asset.
• Willingness to assist in other activities when circumstances arise with a result minded focus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, scheduling systems, Power BI tools.
• Ability to simplify complex financial data.
• Ability to work with large datasets.
• Provide a clear criminal record check
