The Our House Residential Care Facility (RCF) is a 14-room facility with a team of expert clinicians who work with people living with HIV who are having difficulty managing independent living. Our House of Portland a program apart of CAP Northwest is excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented Kitchen Assistant. This position is responsible for collaborating with kitchen and nursing staff to assist with providing meals and snacks for resident.
This is a Part-Time (0.6 FTE) role working at Our House of Portland located in SE Portland. The schedule for this role is Friday - Monday 10:30am - 7pm
Starting pay is $23.17 an hour which is equivalent to just over $28,916 a year with a $1.00 differential for weekends. The Kitchen Assistant’s Pay increases with tenure and the top of the pay scale is $27.16. This is a union represented position, so the compensation, benefits and conditions of work are collectively bargained.
Who You Are
- Ability to pass DHS background check to work in a Residential Care Facility (Potential Disqualifying Conviction List)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Food handler’s card or ability to obtain one in the first 3 months of hire.
- First aid certification or ability to become certified in the first 3 months of hire
- Motivation to work with people living with HIV/AIDS who require all levels of care.
- Willingness to work with people with physical and emotional health and/or substance use disorder.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Cooks and trains in short order and meal service cooking for 20 meals per service
- Communicate with staff and residents about daily meals.
- Follows all dietary instructions for residents, including
- Orients self with updates since last shift
- Follows all portion size guidelines.
- Follows all food safety guidelines and maintains kitchen cleanliness
- Cooks food that is nutritious and follows all dietary instructions for residents
