About the role:

Designs, develops, builds, and implements new components, products, or technologies.

What you will do:

• Researching new materials and competitive products. Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
• Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance. Overseeing the efforts of drafting and testing specialists.
• Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents. Participating in buy-build analysis for product components.
• Participating in and supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

• Generates specifications for parts or components with CAD software.
• Reuses design components via reusable libraries following standard procedures.
• Performs routine changes to computerized schematics or drawings.
• Creates views of objects in 2 and 3 dimensions; creates perspective drawings and orthogonal views. Product Design - MFG: Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design. Level Working Knowledge: Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production. Level Working Knowledge:

Basic Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or a related field)

· Previous experience in manufacturing industries and/or product engineering.

· English level: Pre-Advanced or more

Top Candidates will also have:

· Knowledge of manufacturing processes (MFG).

· Experience working in global or multicultural environments.

• The location for this position is Caterpillar Torreón, Plant 1
• This position requires ~10% travel.
