As a member of the Advisor Experience Technology - Digital Onboarding Organization, you will be immersed in a collaborative, fast-paced and technically challenging environment. We're looking for an experienced Technology Leader who is enthusiastic about applying one’s foundation in technology, Institutional business, and industry best practices to support the evolution of the Advisor Services platform(s). The role will require strong work ethics, problem solving skills, being detailed oriented, working with ambiguity, and the ability to partner with business and technologists across the organization to achieve outcomes. There is a strong emphasis on demonstrating thought & servant leadership, demonstrating managerial courage, applying domain expertise to solve complex challenges unique to the Institutional domain and ensuring an optimal client experience. As a leader in this team, you will be consulted by product, business, and technology teams to establish process, create governance, and mature existing practices to deliver a world-class product. The Advisor Services group is one of the fastest growing and most profitable teams within Schwab and as such requires highly skilled leaders to help guide our engineering teams and practices. This is a leadership position to support and lead multiple teams across disparate locations/time-zones and technologies.

You will be part of a high-performing engineering team responsible for building and enhancing enterprise-grade, web-based solutions that power Advisor Services Digital Onboarding platforms. These platforms enable core capabilities including Onboarding Advisor and End Clients, account management, API Integration for 3rd Party Firms, trading and operational workflows, portfolio insights, reporting, document management, and integrated advisor tools that support end-to-end Advisor experiences. As part of this team, you will contribute to modernizing platform architecture, improving scalability and resilience, and driving innovation through seamless integration across enterprise offerings. This work plays a critical role in evolving the Advisor and Client Onboarding & Account Management experience and delivering differentiated value across the broader Advisor Services ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical teams in delivering challenging programs (business and technology) that adhere to budgets/timelines while ensuring alignment to strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with PMO, Business and Technology partners to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Instill the necessary governance and software delivery practices suitable for a Lean Agile environment.
  • Demonstrate open mindedness, flexibility and be comfortable operating in the “Grey”.
  • Demonstrate a grasp of the OKR Framework as a tool to drive results and outcomes.
  • Identify gaps/risks early and establish mitigation plans (both technically & with regards to resources)
  • Create a culture of continuous improvements with the intention of the following:
  • Drive strong recruiting principles and ensure we are hiring the right talent.
  • Demonstrate strong & creative problem-solving skills.
  • Track and manage budgets & Work Orders for your organization and tie back to the larger enterprise budgets.

Required Qualifications

  • Current working experience with Schwab systems and processes.
  • Leverages deep expertise to establish robust methods for efficient technical support
  • Optimizes methods for integrating, consolidating, and cleansing data with compliance
  • Leads initiatives to establish advanced incident response methods and optimize processes
  • Implements advanced QA testing methodologies and drives robust compliance verification
  • Utilizes functional expertise improve requirements management processes across teams, projects, or programs
  • Manages initiatives to optimize controls and manage cryptographic functions
  • Optimizes software design methodologies through effective leadership and process refinement
  • Executes advanced methodologies to refine software development processes and secure reliability
  • Optimizes software release and deployment strategies to enhance quality and efficiency
  • Leads the execution of system design strategies for cloud-based environments
  • 14+ years of experience working with technology/software engineering.
  • 8+ years of leading and/or managing engineering team(s) work.
  • 3+ years of Institutional business domain knowledge and a strong grasp of the RIA space.
  • Ability to identify, recruit, hire, and build high-performing teams.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and provide direct, timely performance feedback.
  • Proficient managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, geographically dispersed environment
  • Deep understanding of SDLC, Agile software development methodologies and SAFe
  • Ability to analyze, propose and implement timely, cost effective, quality solutions for all issues or problems within area of responsibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (includes ability to compose and deliver technical presentations or other forms of documentation to various levels of technical and non-technical management)
  • Experience in Financial Services/RIA Industry

Technical

  • Experience with Web Technologies - Angular, REST & SOAP Services and Micro Services & Micro Front-Ends (MFEs).
  • Experience with .Net, Spring frameworks, including Spring Boot.
  • Experience with Oracle, MongoDB and/or Aerospike.
  • Understanding of and ability to apply SOLID principles and design patterns.
  • Have prior experience in migrating legacy Application from Angular JS to latest Angular version.
  • Implementing/leveraging Test Automation & CI/CD practices to drive efficiency.
  • Establishing performance engineering standards and practices to drive scalability/capacity planning
